189B Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards requested a report from David Harry Kelly, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Faceman, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Michael Bowe, Representative for the trainer concerned, reported that his charge had improved for its first run back at Limerick on the 25th of May and also might not have appreciated the rain softened ground that day. 189C Writech H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fast Felix, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
189D1 Larrigy's Pub H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after the first flight involving Knockraha Eagle, ridden by J. Smith, placed third, Ballinaboola Jet, ridden by D.E. Mullins, unplaced, and Late Vocation, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, unplaced, where it appeared Ballinaboola Jet ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Smith stated that his mount jumped out to its left and then leaned in on the two horses inside him but he corrected as best he could. D. E. Mullins stated that he received persistent pressure from his outside. J. P. O'Sullivan stated that he received pressure from both sides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found J. Smith was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended J. Smith for two racedays.
189D2 Larrigy's Pub H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bringsty (GB), trained by Noel C. Kelly, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a few skin scrapes but to be otherwise post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards informed E. McNamara, trainer of Huscari, that a repeat performance from his charge, who refused to line up and was withdrawn by order, may render the animal liable to a suspension in the future.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Finnicky Filly, concerning the conduct of this horse who refused to line up and was withdrawn by order. Evidence was heard from John Patrick Ryan who stated that the only other time his charge has behaved like this was also at Kilbeggan and he did not intend running her at the track again. He added that his charge had become very hot and worked up on the way up to the saddling boxes and the heat today and the tongue strap may also have been contributing factors. Having considered the evidence The Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given and took no further action.
189E New Forest Estate & Golf Club H'cap HdleJ.G. Gilligan, rider of Seventy Eight Team, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled independently of any other horse going by the stable yard.
