179B H'cap H'dle

K.E. Buckley, rider of Call Her Now, trained by Mrs Lorna Fowler, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount travelled well until she stopped quickly.

179C Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes H'dle

B. Hayes, rider of Enfranchise, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the second last, took her time to get back into a rhythm and lost any chance as a result.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video of the start where Sole Pretender, trained by Norman Lee, had refused to race after a fair start had been effected. They advised Norman Lee that any repeat of similar behaviour could render his charge liable to a suspension.

179D Tipperary M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend turning into the back straight involving Parnell One, ridden by J.G. Gilligan and Aegirine, ridden by R.J. Condon where it appeared that Parnell One checked on that bend when racing close to the running rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.G. Gilligan stated that his mount was hanging away from the bend and he was trying to get him back tight to the running rail. R.J. Condon stated that he was unaware of any incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action. They did, however, as a result of the evidence given by J.G. Gilligan, advise him of his obligation to comply with Rule 213 by reporting anything at first instance that might have affected the running of his horse.

179E Pierce Motors H'cap H'dle

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Rebel Rose, trained by Mark Fahey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from R.P. Cody, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Watch The Weather (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. R.P. Cody stated that his charge had its palette cauterized since its last run and, furthermore, a step up in trip may have accounted for the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

179F Cappawhite Plant Hire H'cap H'dle

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Duffys Getaway, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

179G Racing Again August 11th INH Flat Race

Following a report from the IHRB Veterinary Officer that Sweet Maisie trained by Luke Comer was noted to have no hind shoes when presented for identification. The Raceday Stewards enquired as to why prior permission was not sought by the trainer from the IHRB under Regulation 16 to allow his charge to race without hind shoes. Evidence was heard from Sarah Devoy, representing Luke Comer, trainer. She stated that Sweet Maisie had front shoes fitted but had proven to be very difficult to fit with hind shoes. She admitted that she was unaware of the requirement under Regulation 16. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Luke Comer had failed to comply with the provisions of Regulation 16 by failing to request prior permission from the IHRB to allow his charge to run without hind shoes under an exceptional circumstance and consequently ordered the withdrawal of Sweet Maisie.

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting:
Mr. J. Moloney (Chairman),
Mr. D. Gavin,
Mr. J. O'Shaughnessy,
Mr. L. Walsh.
