The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that she was unable to positively identify Oscar Lantern trained by C.Byrnes. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned and also from Ms. Nicola O'Connor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer. In his evidence, the trainer accepted that he endorsed the passport without checking the markings, in accordance with Regulation 8(2).
Having considered the evidence the Stewards withdrew Oscar Lantern in accordance with Rule 90(v). Furthermore the matter was referred to the Chief Executive of The Turf Club for further investigation.
