The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Adam Caffrey rode Tara Power (reserve), trained by Keith Henry Clarke (Race 8).

098A Kilberry Apprentice H'cap

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Daniel McLoughlin, trainer of Twotolose for an additional 10 minutes to present his charge for identification to an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Mary Shoelaces, ridden by Alexandra Egan, Aurora Nova, ridden by W. Joyce, and Platino Bianco, ridden by M.L. Malone, where it appeared these horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Platino Bianco jumping right and that no further action was warranted.

T. Casey, rider of Velvet Skies, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stumbled leaving the stalls.

M.L. Malone, rider of Platino Bianco, trained by Chris Timmons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right from the stalls.

J.S. Dalton, rider of My Girl Sioux, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump leaving the stalls.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Daniel McLoughlin, trainer, and Adam Browne-Souza, rider, in relation to the late arrival of Twotolose to the start. Evidence was heard from the trainer and rider concerned. The trainer stated that he instructed the rider to take his time going down as he did not want the horse to get a run on him. The rider stated that he trotted down and did not realise he was going to be late to the start. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded the trainer and rider of their responsibilities under Rule 205(i).

098B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

D.S. O'Sullivan, rider of Cliadh Dubh, trained by Daniel William O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left off the bridle.

Brendan W.Duke, trainer of Canon Law, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge found his first day at the races very overwhelming from the time he arrived at the track and felt it took its toll on the animal particularly in the closing stages.

098D Irish Stallion Farms EBF Salsabil Stakes

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Ecstatic (JPN), trained by A.P. O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Tarima, trained by D.K. Weld, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two furlongs from the finish involving Catalina Delcarpio, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, Spicy Margarita, ridden by D. Egan, placed fifth, and Tarima, ridden by C.D. Hayes, unplaced, where it appeared there was bumping between the three horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. David Egan stated that he received pressure from both sides but didn't have to stop riding and the others had more horse than he did. Chris Hayes stated that they went no pace and his charge was only having her second start, she became unbalanced and received a bump from the inside. W.J. Lee stated that he followed Ecstatic (JPN) when they quickened off the hill when a gap appeared, his charge was raw and changed leads and became unbalanced and made contact with Spicy Margarita due to greenness. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were not entirely convinced by the evidence of W.J. Lee but gave him the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

W.J. Lee, rider of Catalina Delcarpio, trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had to come off heels for a stride and changed legs.

R.L. Moore, rider of Ecstatic (JPN), trained by A.P. O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was unsuited by today's going.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ecstatic (JPN), trained by A.P. O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Tarima, trained by D.K. Weld, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

D.K. Weld, trainer of Tarima, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge showed no abnormalities when scoped post race.

098E Irish EBF Spring Series Med. Auct. M'dn

The Raceday Stewards fined Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Kevin The Great, €130 for failing to notify the authorities that her charge had been gelded as required under the provisions of Rule 148 (xii).

The IHRBVeterinary Officer examined Sound Of Lightning (GB), trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a right-fore shoe in-running and was sore as a consequence. Otherwise the animal was post race normal.

098G Navan Racecourse H'cap

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the straight involving Black Gem, ridden by C.D. Fahy, unplaced, The Truant, ridden by R. Whearty, unplaced, and Rockview Consort (GB), ridden by R. Coakley, unplaced, where it appeared these horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

C.D. Fahy, rider of Black Gem, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left up the straight.

B.M. Coen, rider of Desert Friend, trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was a bit keen in the early stages.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on leaving the stalls involving Plains Indian, ridden by Orla Tynan, placed fourth, and Desert Friend, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed sixth, where it appeared these horses bumped. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

098H Arkle Bar H'cap

P. McGettigan, rider of Cordouan (FR), trained by P. Sweeney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly.
