The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.C. Gainford replaced D.N. Russell on Felix Desjy (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 3)(injured)
J.W. Kennedy replaced D.N. Russell on Saywhatyouwant, trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 4)(injured).
J.W. Kennedy replaced D.N. Russell on Ballykeel, trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 6)(injured).
C.J. Orr replaced C.A. Landers on Lucaya (FR), trained by Alan Fleming (Race 4)(stood down)
C.J. Orr replaced C.A. Landers on Shamrock'n Roll, trained by J.R.Finn (Race 6)(stood down)

021A2 Naas Racecourse M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of The Role Model, ridden by S. Fitzgerald, and trained by Kevin Michael Smith. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. S. Fitzgerald, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount out the back, as it had ran too free on its previous run at Punchestown were it unseated its rider at the first hurdle. He stated that his intention was to creep into the race thereafter and do his best. Kevin Michael Smith, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He stated that he had struggled to secure a rider for his charge today following its first run and in the circumstances was happy with the performance. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that The Role Model was found to have a small wound on the right hind pastern and was also clinically abnormal post race. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and reminded the rider of his future responsibilities in this regard.

021C Join The Business Club At Naas Hcap Hdle

The Stewards reviewed an incident after the second last hurdle involving Big King (FR), ridden by D.J. McInerney, Neveradullmoment, ridden by L.P. Dempsey and Charlie Stout, ridden by B.Hayes, where it appeared that Big King (Fr) momentarily ran short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

021D I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF M'dn H'dle

I.J. Power, rider of Topothelane trained by J.P. O'Keeffe, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried out by a puller up at the hurdle before the home straight.

D.J. McInerney, rider of Ballycorus (FR) trained by Barry Connell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly, made a noise and was pulled up thereafter.

The Stewards interviewed I.J. Power, rider, in relation to his failure to pull up after he was carried out of the race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount was carried out by another runner which was pulling up. He accepted that he continued to gallop to the finish line without jumping both hurdles in the straight and said this was an oversight on his part and apologised for his actions. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action on this occasion other than to remind I.J. Power of his obligations under Rule 215.

021E Naas Business Club Novice S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Noble Yeats, trained by Emmet Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal. Samples were taken for analysis.

B. Hayes, rider of Noble Yeats trained by Emmet Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up thereafter.

021F Naas Tidy Towns Novice H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D.J. McInerney, rider of Call The Tune, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.J. McInerney was in breach of both Regulation 10.3(g)(excessive frequency) and 10.3(f)(excessive force). Having taking his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended D.J. McInerney for 7 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed `Mr. James Ivors, Authorised Representative for Michael J. McDonagh, trainer of Krabat, regarding the late arrival of the his charge into the parade ring. Evidence was heard from Mr. Ivors, who stated that his charge became fractious prior to entering the parade ring causing him to remain outside. He stated that it was his intention to time entering the parade ring as the riders entered, but accepted that this had not occurred. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the Michael J. McDonagh was in breach of Rule 32(ii)(late arrival into parade ring) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion through his authorised representative.
