The IHRB wishes to draw attention to recent analytical findings published by the British Horseracing
Authority (BHA) concerning certain batches of the products:
• Homoplus (Peak Performance Nutrition)
• Lung XL
• Hemorex Paste
The reported findings indicate the presence of substances classified as Prohibited at all times under
the IHRB Rules of Racing, including:
• Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)
• 20-hydroxyecdysone
Under Rule 96(iv)(b), licensed persons are prohibited from possessing or administering substances
listed as prohibited at all times. The Rule applies to the substance itself and is not dependent on
whether it appears in a labelled medication, supplement, or feed product.
This notice is issued to assist trainers and veterinary practitioners in managing compliance risk when
considering the use or storage of any preparation that may contain such substances.
Persons in possession of these products may wish to take appropriate precautions pending further
manufacturer clarification.
