049A Golf Classics At Gowran Park M'dn H'dle
Prior to the running of the race A.J. Martin, trainer of Zuzukel (FR), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge is a very difficult individual who would be leaving the parade ring last and wearing a red hood to the start. He advised that in order for his charge to be seen to be running to his best effect in the race, he would be instructing his rider to jump off a few lengths behind the other runners, to get his mount to settle and to ride his race from there. He was strongly of the view that a failure to use these tactics would result in his charge running too free and being uncompetitive. |
