Butler, rider of Dr Waluigi, trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran free to the start and was a difficult ride during the race which pulled himself to the front until giving a heave at the third last hurdle. He added that he started his challenge turning into the straight but missed the second last hurdle, took a blow going to the final hurdle which he jumped very tired and plugged on to the finish.
