L.T. McAteer, rider of Question Of Class, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount clipped a heel after a furlong.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after a furlong involving Gentileschi (FR), ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, Question Of Class, ridden by L.T. McAteer, and Osprey, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, where it appeared that Question Of Class ran short of room and clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L.T. McAteer stated that his mount was running a bit keen and suffered interference from his outside causing him to clip a heel. C. Stone Walsh stated that he did not contribute to the incident and only got a slight touch from his outside. D.P. McDonogh stated that his mount was running for the first time and was green at this point in the race and felt he kept reasonably straight in the circumstances. He further added that when he realised that Question Of Class was in need of room he tried to move out, but his mount cocked her jaw at this point. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and therefore took no further action.
