402B Billie & Bertie FitzGerald Mem. Mdn Hdle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the line involving Eco Pete, ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed second, and Razdan, ridden by K.E. Buckley, placed first, where it appeared S.D. Torrens may have struck Razdan on the nose with his whip. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K.E. Buckley stated that his mount was full of running and got through the gap very quick but it was just as S.D. Torrens was striking his mount but said it was accidental. S.D. Torrens stated that the strike was accidental. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

K.E. Buckley, rider of Razdan, trained by Chris Timmons, reported to the Steward's Secretaries that his mount collided with the rail independently. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

402D Toals Bookmakers H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ross Tumilty, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Custers Mistake, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ross Tumilty stated that the better ground on this track and the application of first time cheekpieces may have helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.
