401G Ir. Stallion Farms EBF (M) INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Amanha (FR), ridden by Mr D. McGill, placed second, Farfromnowhere, ridden by Mr J.W. Hendrick, placed first, and Royal Hollow, ridden by Mr A.P. Ryan, placed fourth, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. D. McGill stated he received interference from his right in the closing stages as Farfromnowhere drifted towards him but also accepted his filly drifted right. Mr. J.W. Hendrick stated he felt his filly drifted to the left but he corrected quickly and didn't interfere with the second. Mr. A.P. Ryan stated he got pressure from both sides as his filly was tiring. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings. However, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. J.W. Hendrick and Mr. D. McGill were in breach of Rule 214 in that they had ridden carelessly, and having considered their records in this regard (first offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended both riders for one raceday.
