Following a request from broadcasters, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for a two minute delay to this race

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Jazzy Dancer, trained by W.J. Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount drifted left one furlong down.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.P. Hoban, rider of Samrogue, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of R10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C.P. Hoban was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for five racedays.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Californiagoldrush, trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount met with interference in the closing stages.

C.P. Hoban, rider of Samrogue, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount idled in front and went left under pressure.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Californiagoldrush, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed sixth, and Samrogue, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed second, where it appeared that Californiagoldrush had to severely check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. A. Heffernan stated that he met with interference from his outside causing him to check, and added that he was unsure if the incident had cost him a better finishing position. C.P. Hoban stated that his mount drifted left for company in the closing stages and stated that he had changed his whip for correction, but accepted that he could have done more with his right hand to help straighten his mount. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Samrogue had caused interference to Californiagoldrush she did not improve her finishing position as a result of this interference, so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that C.P .Hoban was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered his record they suspended him for four racedays.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ross O'Sullivan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Samrogue, placed second, as compared with its recent form. Ross O'Sullivan reported that his charge had been very unruly from stalls recently resulting in her missing the break and being slowly away. Since her last run in Naas he has done extensive stalls work with Samrogue which contributed to her breaking well today. Furthermore he stated that her last run in Naas was over five furlongs and her previous runs in the Curragh and Navan were on heavy ground. Todays distance of six furlongs and the good ground combined with Samrogue's improved behaviour in the stalls resulted in her apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Shoebox King, trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount drifted left in the last furlong.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of American In Paris, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left under pressure.

D. McMonagle, rider of Improving, trained by Augustine Leahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried left about two furlongs down.

J.A. Powell, rider of Benerville, trained by T.Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung very badly left.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Teddy Boy, trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to check his mount near the finishing line and was unlucky not to win.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of Tiktok Time to the start having been last to leave the parade ring and then trotted all the way to the start. D. Marnane, Trainer, stated that his filly is very difficult to handle and they had planned to leave early but there was numerous troubled horses at the exit to the parade ring, and one in particular which had reared up unseating her rider. Upon seeing this he asked L.T. McAteer to take another turn to avoid his filly getting unruly. L.T. McAteer stated that he was instructed to take a turn and let the horses in front of him off in an effort to keep his mount relaxed. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded D. Marnane that as per Rule 148(f) it is his responsibility to ensure his charge is at the start on time. Furthermore they advised him to seek permission in future to let his charge go to the start early as a similar circumstance may see his charge withdrawn at the start.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stage involving American In Paris, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed first and Teddy Boy, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of Edward Lynam, who accompanied J.J.G. Ryan. J.J.G. Ryan stated that he met with interference from the winner, felt he may have clipped a heel and had to switch direction before staying on close to the line. J.M. Sheridan stated that his mount moved around in the closing stages, but was well clear of Teddy Boy and had caused him no interference as he was too far behind him at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted that Teddy Boy had to switch direction, but were not satisfied that he had clipped a heel as they felt the winner was sufficiently clear at the time. They therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action as they were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred.

Crosse stated that his mount anticipated the start and jumped a little right but he felt he corrected him quickly. M.W. Hassett stated that his mount jumped well but that the gap in front of him closed quickly. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and they took no further action.

J.A. Powell, rider of Katonah, trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keenly and ran around under pressure.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after turning in involving Givemefive, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed second, Lucky Question (GB), ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed fifth, and Get Set Jet (GB), ridden by M.P. Sheehy, unplaced, where it appeared Get Set Jet had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence M.P. Sheehy stated that he suffered slight interference from both sides when his mount was coming under pressure. R.C. Colgan stated that Givemefive was clear of him when he came across. B.M. Coen stated that his mount was a difficult ride and raced right when he hit the front. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that B.M. Coen's mount was a difficult ride and that he had taken reasonable steps to avoid causing the incident and took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the first bend involving Katonah, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, and Lucky Question (GB), ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed fifth, where it appeared R.C. Colgan had to check his mount. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence R.C. Colgan stated that he jumped well and was travelling to the bend when he could see Lucky Question running keen so he took a precautionary check. J.A. Powell stated that his mount was running very keen to the bend and he tired his best to keep her clear of the other riders. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by J.A. Powell's mount running very free despite his best efforts and therefore took no further action.
