K.J. Manning Appeal – Leopardstown, 6th August 2009

The Appeals Body, Division One, Mr. Eoghan Fitzsimons (in the Chair), Mrs. T.K. Cooper and Mr. Peter N. Reynolds met in the Turf Club Office, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, on Tuesday, 25th August 2009 to consider an appeal from K.J. Manning, rider, against the decision of the Acting Stewards at Leopardstown on 6th August 2009 when, following the running of the Dodder Handicap, he was suspended for two racedays for careless riding.

Evidence was heard from W.J. Supple, rider of Dandy Erin and D.P. McDonogh, rider of Dedo.  Videos of the race were also reviewed.

Having considered the evidence, the Appeals Body found that the evidence presented did not give rise to a case for Mr. Manning to answer and allowed the appeal.

The case was presented to the Appeals Body by Mr. Denis Egan, Chief Executive, Irish Turf Club.  K.J. Manning was represented by Mr. Frank Ward, Frank Ward & Co. Solicitors, Ormond Quay, Dublin 7.
