TIPPERARY SUNDAY 22 JULY 2018
Programme Of Races Amended To Form A Six-Race Steeplechase Card

Due to the extended dry spell in recent weeks and the extra amount of watering of the course in order to produce safe ground for National Hunt racing, Horse Racing Ireland has amended the programme of scheduled races at Tipperary on Sunday 22 July to form a six-race all steeplechase card with the first race remaining at 2.05.

The original three steeplechases programmed will be held, with the 2m 7f  Handicap Chase (rated 0-116) now being an Adare Manor Opportunity Series Race, along with the following three steeplechase races:-

  • The Walter Hennessy Auctioneer, Valuer and Estate Agent MIPAV TRV MCEI Mares Beginners Steeplechase of €12,500– 2m 1f (Originally scheduled for Limerick 26 July)
  • The Packie Downey Memorial Rated Novice Steeplechase of €16,500 – 2m 4f (Originally scheduled for Limerick 26 July)
  • The Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Handicap Steeplechase of €10,500 (Rated 0-95) – 2m 4f

Entries for this meeting will close as normal by 12 noon on Tuesday 17 July but Trainers are requested to note a new meeting number (Number 382) will be in use.

The three hurdle races and the bumper race on this card have been deleted from the programme. The 3m conditions hurdle and the 2m 4f Handicap Hurdle (80-109) (no longer an Adare Manor Opportunity Series Race) will be transferred to Limerick 26 July to replace the steeplechases transferred to Tipperary.

Also at Limerick, the distance of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Hurdle (Rated 0-109) will be amended to 3m (from 2m 6f) and the condition of the Ladbrokes Munster National 14th October INH Flat Race will be amended to a winners- of-one race (formerly a maiden bumper).

Entries for this meeting will close as normal by 12 noon on Thursday 19 July but trainers are requested to note a new meeting number (Number 383) will be in use.
