The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Fame And Joy (ground) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr. J. Kelly Smith rode Cassarina Gold (reserve) trained by Matthew J. Smith (Race 7)
Mr. H.C. Swan rode Ko Kate (reserve) trained by Ray Hackett (Race 7)

118A Wexford Racecourse (Mares) M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Milajess, trained by Michael C.Griffin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a few skin scrapes on both front legs but otherwise to be post race normal.

118B Poolcourt Rated H'dle

I.J. Power, rider of Dr Mikey trained by Ms.M.Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't handle the ground.

J.S. McGarvey, rider of Gladiatorial trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

118C BoyleSports H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed B. Browne, rider of Tullypole Annie, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. B. Browne stated that he was in a tight finish and had not ridden a winner for a period of time, but accepted that he was in breach of R 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found B. Browne in breach of R 10.3(a)(hitting his mount in forehand in front of the saddle), R 10.3 (i)(time to respond), and R 10.3 (g)(frequency), and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 4 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed J.C. Gainford, rider of Junior Bee, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found J.C. Gainford in breach of R 10.3 (g) (frequency) and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 1 raceday.

K.C. Sexton, rider of Gregory's Gift trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a noise and was pulled up.

118D Supp. The Irish Injured Jockeys Hcap Hdl

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. J. Walsh, that D.L. Queally, rider of Robyndeglory, that had weighed in at 1.8Ibs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.L. Queally was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record they suspended him for 1 raceday. Mr. Emmet Halley (Chairman) absent himself from this enquiry and was replaced by Ms. Caroline Corballis.

The Stewards requested a report from Declan Queally, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Robyndeglory, placed first, as compared with its most recent run at Cork on the 7th of may 2022 were she finished 12th of 17 runners. Declan Queally stated that the fitting of a tongue tie today helped bring about todays improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report and took no further action.

118F Jim Ryan Racecourse Services H'cap S'ch

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Touch Of Oscar trained by Michael Hourigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. This was subsequently confirmed by the I.H.R.B Veterinary Officer that this was the case.

118G Irish Stall. Farms EBF (M) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr R.W. Barron, rider of Hopeforarun, trained by C.Byrnes, concerning his riding from the last bend to the line. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he thought he had finished sixth but a horse on the outside came and past him at the post. He accepted he had stopped riding and apologised for his misjudgement. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. R.W. Barron was in breach or Rule 212A(iv) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 2 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed, Mr. J. Kelly Smith, rider of Cassarina Gold, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted he was in breach of Regulation 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr. J. Kelly Smith in breach of R 10.3 (g)(frequency) and having taken his previous record into account they cautioned him on this occasion.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Lady Stanwix trained by N.Stokes was coughing post race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sunkist, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
