Down Royal Meeting, 2nd February 2011

018A(i) Sean Graham Bookmakers Maiden Hurdle (Division One) & N.J. O’Shea, rider of Lord Rudi, trained by Mr. R.K. Watson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a slight respiratory noise in running, blew up turning for home and may need better ground.

P. Carberry, rider of Lord Redsgirth, trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount weakened after the fourth last hurdle and felt flat. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Lord Redsgirth was found to be post race normal.

018C Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Novice Handicap Hurdle & A representative for Sabrina J. Harty, trainer of William Wordsworth, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that this horse scoped abnormally post race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that William Wordsworth was found to be post race normal.

018E Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Steeplechase & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that West Ship Master, trained by Mr. Lorcan Joseph Donnelly, was found to be clinically abnormal post race.

Clonmel Meeting, 3rd February 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: D.J. Condon replaced R.M. Power (injured) on Snow Flyer, trained by Mr. T.J. Taaffe (first race).

019A(i) Fethard Maiden Hurdle (Division One) & S.W. Flanagan, rider of Sligo (GB), trained by Mr. V.T. Keane, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was pulled up lame.

N.J. O’Shea, rider of Camp Hope, trained by Mr. Conor O’Dwyer, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became very tired on today’s ground.

D.J. Casey, rider of Prince Blackthorn, trained by Mr. J.A. Nash, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stayed on past tired horses in the closing stages and would probably prefer better ground.

019A(ii) Fethard Maiden Hurdle (Division Two) & P.F. Mangan, rider of Unwanted Gift, trained by Mr. L.J. Archdeacon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.

P.W. Flood, rider of Whatever Jacksays, trained by Mr. Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not travel well early on in this race, but stayed on in the closing stages and probably would prefer better ground.

S.J. Gray, rider of Paddy The Lemon, trained by Mr. P.F. Sullivan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not travel well early on in this race, but stayed on in the closing stages and probably would prefer better ground.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Miss Hilliers, trained by Mr. Donal Hassett, was found to be lame post race.

019B Kilsheelan Mares Novice Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into an incident just before the turn into the straight involving Henrietta’s Way, ridden by J.L. Cullen, (slipped up), and Instant Pur, ridden by Mr. J.M. Quinlan, unplaced, where it appeared that Henrietta’s Way clipped heels and fell.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that Mr. Quinlan had ridden carelessly and they therefore suspended him for four race days (17th, 19th, 20th and 23rd February).

G.N. Fox, rider of Carolobrian, trained by Mr. F. Flood, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped and that he therefore pulled his mount up.

019D Munster Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving the winner Tequilla Lord, ridden by E.F. Power, and Seamies Dream, ridden by Andrew J. McNamara, placed second, where it appeared that Tequilla Lord ran short of room and was switched to the outside.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that Andrew J. McNamara had ridden carelessly and having taken his excellent record in this regard into account, they severely cautioned him concerning his future riding.
