Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In her evidence Miss K.J.Harrison stated that her instructions were to settle the horse in mid division and to keep her on the bridle as long as possible. She added that the mare never travelled and jumped high and deliberately. She concluded that the horse did not handle the ground but stayed on past beaten horses in the latter stages.
In her evidence Mrs C.Harrison confirmed the instructions and added that the horse needs softer ground and a longer trip. She also stated that the mare suffered an injury in the past and because of that they have been reluctant to run her on quick ground ever since.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer which stated that Days Of Glory was found to have a slight nasal discharge, which may or may not be of any significance. The report also stated that the mare had an enlarged left fore lateral sesamoid from an old injury, but that she was otherwise found to be sound post race.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the trainers explanation. However, the Stewards found Miss K.J. Murphy, trainer of the winner The Hard Hat, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s previous runs at Punchestown on 6th May 2011 and more recently at Galway on the 23rd October, when he was pulled up on both occasions.
Mr. Murphy reported that the animal had run in a three mile and six furlong handicap steeplechase at the festival meeting at Punchestown and failed to sparkle possibly as a result of a long season. He returned from his summer break and ran on very testing ground at Galway where he ran well until eventually pulling up at the third last fence in a race with few finishers.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that this gelding was very good in his homework but today having travelled well to about four furlongs out he began to make a respiratory noise and he gave him a few backhanders but got no response. However, when left alone, the gelding cleared his wind until about one and a half furlongs out where he made a gasping noise and in the best interests of the horse he left him alone. He added that Feabhra, ridden by Ms. K. Harrington, was in front of him at this stage but weakened quickly and allowed his own mount to close on the final downhill run to the finish.
Following the running of this race Tooten Hill was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards and was found to be distressed post race.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.
