Evidence was heard from Mr. F.J. Flood, (representing Mr. F. Flood), Mr. Rothwell, D.J. Bates, and from Mr. Alan Donoghue, Authorised Riders Agent for D.J. Bates.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. Donoghue, acting on behalf of D.J. Bates, had made a commitment to Mr. F. Flood and therefore ordered that D.J. Bates ride Mr. Flood’s charge Bobby John. They consequently ordered Mr. Rothwell to seek a substitute rider for his charge Shaciara.
The Stewards advised Mr. Donoghue that confirmation of availability must be honoured.
Subsequent to this enquiry, the Stewards spoke to Mr. Rothwell concerning his earlier comments on leaving the Stewards room and cautioned him to conduct himself in a proper manner in the future. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that King High had caused interference but had not improved his placing in so doing and they therefore made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. The Stewards did, however, consider that J.R. Barry had ridden carelessly and therefore suspended him for one race day (15th October).
Gowran Park Meeting, 1st October 2011

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had overused his whip in a tight finish but was not aware that he was still using it after passing the winning post.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.N. Fox had breached three parts of Regulation 10, namely, R10 (2)(d), in that he hit the horse after the winning post had been reached, R10 (2)(f), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and R10 (3), in that he failed to give his mount a chance to respond.
