Turf Club Calendar Notices - Week 20
17 May 2012The following trainers were fined €200 in each case for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provisions of Rule 194 (v) (vi):- Mr. William P. Murphy for Sacre Malta (FR) (lame) at Ballinrobe on 1st May and Mr. P. Hughes for Liar Valley (injured in transit) at Limerick on 5th May.

Tipperary Meeting, 19th April 2012
080E Schooling At Tipperary Maiden Hurdle & Mr. D. Rohan, trainer of Castlerock Rose, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Tuesday 15th May that his charge was found to be post race normal following an endoscopic examination post race.
Gowran Park Meeting, 6th May 2012
097C Follow Gowran Park On Facebook Handicap & Mr. Liam McAteer, trainer of Luaimneach (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries at the Curragh on 7th May that his charge lost his action in running and was eased close home.
Sligo Meeting 6th May 2012
098B 23rd May At Sligo Handicap Hurdle & Mr. Niall Moran, trainer of The Drunken Dr, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Wednesday 9th May that his charge was found to be lame post race.
Curragh Meeting, 7th May 2012
099B Dylan Thomas European Breeders Fund Tetrach Stakes & The Stewards interviewed J.P. O’Brien, rider of Triumphant, placed third, concerning his use of the whip (Regulation 10) in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who admitted that he had used his whip with excessive frequency, but stated he was unaware during the race how many times he had used it and apologised for his actions.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that J.P. O’Brien was in breach of Regulation 10 2 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his recent good record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore severely cautioned him.
099D ‘Keadeen Hotel Wedding Specialists’ Handicap & The Stewards received a report from Mr. J.R. Banahan, Turf Club Starter, which stated that a false start in this race was caused by the second set of stalls containing five horses opening markedly slower than the rest of the stalls. He said he tested the stalls both before the race and after the false start and they worked perfectly. He said he therefore reloaded the horses and then effected a proper start.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted its content.
A.P. Thornton, rider of Donatis Comet, trained by Mr. Patrick Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he injured his foot in the stalls when his mount became unruly. He said he thought he was fine to ride but felt a lot of pain during the race and was unable to ride his mount out as a result. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Donatis Comet had grazes on his ribs but was otherwise found to be post race normal.
The Stewards fined Mr. Patrick Martin, trainer, €130 for failing to present a passport in respect of Donatis Comet to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer as required by the Instructions and Notices which pertain to Identification and Vaccination checks.
099E High Chaparral European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes & The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of St Nicholas Abbey, placed second, ridden by J.P. O’Brien, and trained by Mr. A.P. O’Brien.
Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence J.P. O’Brien stated that his instructions were to get his mount to switch off, get him settled and make the best of his way home. He said his mount hated the ground and he was never happy with the way the horse travelled. He said he tried to get his mount to creep into the race and he held onto him as long as possible to make sure he got home on the ground. He felt that if the horse had come off the bridle earlier in the straight he would not have finished out his race as well as he did. He stated that he felt he had obtained his best possible placing taking into account today’s conditions.
In his evidence Mr. A.P. O’Brien confirmed the instructions and outlined how his charge had been to Dubai earlier in the year followed by a little break afterwards. He said that he trained the horse since then with a view to running today on route to the Coronation Cup. He explained how his charge had been beaten in this corresponding race last year on soft ground, and that the animal had shown a preference for better ground in the past. He expressed satisfaction with the ride considering the ground conditions and stated that, if his rider went after the pacemakers earlier in the race, he would have been out on his head and the horse would not have lasted home.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer stating that St Nicholas Abbey was found to be post race normal.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
099F Newbridge Credit Union Handicap & The Stewards fined Mr. Patrick J. Flynn, trainer, €130 in each case for failing to present a passport in respect of Bonnie Acclamation and Jeangeorges to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer as required by the Instructions and Notices which pertain to Identification and Vaccination checks.
The Stewards fined Mr. Jarlath P. Fahey, trainer, €130 for failing to present a passport in respect of Balladiene to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer as required by the Instructions and Notices which pertain to Identification and Vaccination checks.
Down Royal Meeting, 7th May 2012
100A Dark Horse Café & Wine Bar Maiden Hurdle & R.M. Power, rider of Law Rebel, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled throughout. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Law Rebel was found to be post race normal.
The Stewards fined Mr. Victor Wilson, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Silver Sonic, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
100B Daily Mirror Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. J.J. Lambe, trainer of Sir Ector, placed second, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s recent performances.
Mr. Lambe reported that his charge disappointed on his last few runs on testing ground so he gave the horse a break to freshen him up. He added that today’s better ground combined with a drop in class had helped his charge find some improvement.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
The Stewards interviewed R.C. Colgan, rider of Sir Ector (USA), placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.C. Colgan was in breach of Regulation 10 2 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for one race day (21st May).
R. Walsh, rider of Kennysprincess, trained by Mr. A.J. Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and made a mistake at the third hurdle.
P.T. Enright, rider of Thank Your Stars, trained by Mr. M.A. Cahill, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was pulled up lame.
100E Daily Mirror Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of the winner Any Bets, trained by Mr. Oliver McKiernan, compared with this seasons previous form.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that the horse disappointed at Ballinrobe last time when he was unable to get into the race because of a few jumping errors. He also expressed his disappointment with the horses early season form when the horse appeared to be unsuited by the softer ground. The trainer concluded by stating that a number of factors had helped his charge return to form and bring about an improvement. These included today’s light racing weigh, the change in tactics by racing more prominently, more efficient jumping and the step up in trip on better ground.
Evidence was also heard from Mr. Andrew Shaw, Turf Club National Hunt Handicapper, who stated that today’s win represented a significant improvement on the horse’s recent form.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Fever Pitch, trained by Mr. A.L.T. Moore, had blood on one nostril but was otherwise found to be post race normal. The trainer subsequently reported to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer that his charge scoped normal following an endoscopic examination post race.
100F Newmac Contracts Ltd. Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed Mr. J.J. Smyth, rider of the winner Tammy’s Hill, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Smyth was in breach of Regulation 10 2 (c) in that he used his whip unnecessarily when he clearly had the race won. Having taken his good record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days (21st and 23rd May).
100G Albert Bartlett Point-To-Point Series Final I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. J.E. Flynn, rider of Onceuponathyme, concerning his riding in the latter stages when he appeared to stop riding and lose fifth place in the process.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he lost fifth place, but stated that he felt his mount was getting tired in the conditions.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards severely cautioned Mr. Flynn concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.
Punchestown Meeting, 8th May 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: Miss F. McCourt rode Accompanist (GB) (reserve), trained by Mr. T.G. McCourt (eighth race) and Mr. R.A. Cullen rode Derrinlanna (reserve), trained by Mr. Peter Fahey (eighth race).
The Stewards fined the following trainer €130 in respect of his non-runner: Mr. P.J. Rothwell for Cathcer On Themoon (Withdrawn by Order of the Stewards – passport not lodged).
In the interest of safety, Stewards granted permission for the second last fence to be omitted from all Steeplechases at today’s meeting due to ground conditions in that area.
350B Kids Go Free Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards fined Mr. S. Buggy, trainer, €130 for failing to present a passport in respect of Utellme to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer as required by the Instructions and Notices which pertain to Identification and Vaccination checks.
0350E Coleman Tunnelling Ireland, UK & Africa Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the final fence involving the winner Un Hinged, ridden by D.J. Casey, and Raptor (FR), ridden by R.Walsh, placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
0350F ‘3’ Pat Taaffe Handicap Steeplechase & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Mister Farmer, trained by Mr. Martin Brassil, was found to be post race normal.
P. Carberry, rider of Corskeagh Royale, trained by Mr. Noel Meade, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not act on today’s ground.
350G O’Reilly Recruitment (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & Mr. D.G. Lavery, rider of Some Tikket, trained by Mr. B.R. Hamilton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly left off the track in the latter stages.
Mr. Eoin Doyle, trainer of Knockaderry, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Wednesday 9th May that his charge scoped badly following an endoscopic examination by the Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon post race.

The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: Mr. R.P. McNamara replaced Mr. B.O. Walsh (injured) on Big Shu, trained by Mr. Peter Maher (sixth race).
351B Tote Sports Lounge Handicap Hurdle & B.R. Dalton, rider of Donttellmother, trained by Mr. Conor O’Dwyer, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his leather buckle opened and he lost an iron and as a result was unable to ride his mount out.
351D Breakfast With Hector On 2FM Handicap Steelechase & Mr. D.E. Fitzgerald, trainer of Bangonform, reported to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer that his charge was found to have mucus following and endoscopic examination post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.
351G May Evening Meetings I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving the winner Operating, ridden by Mr. M. Fahey, Jennies Jewel, ridden by Mr. B.P. Fahey, placed second, and Gee Gee Robyn, ridden by Miss N. Carberry, placed third, after it appeared that Jennies Jewel suffered interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that, while interference did take place, they were not satisfied the winner had improved his finishing position as a result of that interference. The Stewards therefore made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
Clonmel Meeting, 10th May 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: A.E. Lynch replaced P.T. Enright (original mount a non-runner) on Cloggy Powell, trained by Mr. Henry de Bromhead (fifth race) and P. Townend rode Marshim (reserve), trained by Mr. W. Power (sixth race).
102B(i) Clonmel Hospice Support Group Handicap (Division One) & B.A. Curtis rider of Fiamma Fagioli, trained by Mr. William Hayes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung in this race.
102B(ii) Clonmel Hospice Support Group Handicap (Division Two) & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. W. McCreery, trainer of the winner Ionisphere (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared to the horse’s most recent form.
Mr. McCreery reported that his charge disappointed at Dundalk last time when dropping away quickly in the straight once passed. He added that today’s softer conditions and step up in trip coupled with the application of cheekpieces for the first time may have contributed to the improved performance.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the fall of Skiing In Tune in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider S.A. Gray, who reported that his mount slipped up independently before the turn into the straight.

P.J. Smullen, rider of Mazaris, trained by Mr. Liam McAteer, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.
102C Sepam Tipperary Perpetual Cup Handicap & The Stewards interviewed S.A. Gray, rider of Scots Gaelic, placed third, concerning his use of the whip.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Mr. Adrian McGuinness, trainer, who accompanied the rider in the Steward’s Room.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S.A. Gray was in breach of Regulation 10 2(f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. The Stewards therefore suspended him for seven race days (24th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 31st May, 1st and 2nd June). Furthermore S.G. Gray was instructed to attend R.A.C.E. for a one day tuition on the correct use of the whip.
102E Clonmel Hospice Support Group Handicap Hurdle & P.A. Gallagher, rider of Milano Bay, trained by Mr. Donncha Duggan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not act on today’s ground.
Cork Meeting, 11th May 2012
103A Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Fillies Maiden & The Stewards interviewed R.A. Doyle, rider of Truly Madly, placed second, concerning his use of the whip (Regulation 10) in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who admitted that he got carried away when he became embroiled in a battle in the home straight.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.A. Doyle was in breach of Regulation 10 2 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his good record in this regard into account, the Stewards severely cautioned him.
Mr. John Joseph Murphy, trainer, and Master of R.A. Doyle, also attended this enquiry.
103B corkracecourse.ie Race & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Croisultan, trained by Mr. D.K. Weld, was found to be post race normal.
103D mallow.ie Handicap & S.A. Gray, rider of Big Bad Billy Bob, trained by Mr. Patrick J. Flynn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung into the rail all the way up the home straight.
J.P. O’Brien, rider of Topadee, trained by Mr. Patrick J. Flynn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost her action and was therefore pulled up.
W.J. Lee, rider of Painted Fingers, trained by Mr. Timothy Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped slowly from stalls and could not get competitive thereafter.
G.F. Carroll, rider of Grainne Whale, trained by Mr. John C. McConnell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had a poor draw, was trapped wide around the turn and lost ground as a result. He also reported that his mount ran on in the closing stages.
103F Follow @corkracecourse on Twitter Handicap & The Stewards enquired into an incident (Rule 214) in the home straight involving Noble Call, ridden by James J. Doyle, placed fourth, and Echoes Of History (USA), ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed fifth, after it appeared that Noble Call suffered interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that W.M. Lordan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for one race day (28th May)..

Downpatrick Meeting, 11th May 2012
The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: Mr. J.P. McKeown replaced Mr. M. Fahey (unwell) on En Suite, trained by Mr. D.J. Christie (seventh race).
104A Viva Las Vegas At Downpatrick Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. W.F. Codd, trainer of the winner The Amarillo Kid, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s previous run at Cork when the animal finished eighth of 23 runners.
Mr. Codd reported that the horse was having his first run in a handicap at Cork last time and that there was persistent rain throughout the day which turned the ground against him. He also reported that his yard is in better form now, both in point-to-points and at the track, than earlier in the season. He said that this, combined with the better ground today, may have contributed to the horse’s return to form.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
D.E. Mullins, rider of Ahyaknowyerself, trained by Mr. Anthony Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was found to have a burst blood vessel post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.
D.J. Condon, rider of The Last Straw, trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount cocked her jaw and ran out.
104C Castlewellan Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed T.P. Treacy, rider of The Gnathologist, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that T.P. Treacy was in breach of Regulation 10 3. in that he had used his whip without giving his mount time to respond. Having taken his record into account, the Stewards cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.
104E Newcastle Handicap Steeplechase & P. Townend, rider of Playboy Luke, trained by Mr. B.R. Hamilton, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and never jumped. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Playboy Luke was found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. The trainer subsequently reported to the Turf Club Veterinary Officer that his charge was found to have a trace of blood following an endoscopic examination post race.
A.E. Lynch, rider of Fort View Wings, trained by Mr. I.R. Ferguson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake down the back.
104F Frank Fitzsimmons Maiden Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed Mr. S. Crawford, rider of Mister Philson, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. S. Crawford was in breach of Regulation 10 2 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10 3. in that he failed to give his mount time to respond. Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for one race day (25th May).
Mr. D.L. Queally, rider of Manogue Supreme, trained by Mr. Denis Paul Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his leather broke.
Mr. W.P. Mullins, trainer of Dunbrovic, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was struck into from behind, went lame and was therefore pulled up. However, the horse was subsequently found to be sound post race.
104G Down District Council I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the fall on the flat of Breaking Bits, ridden by Mr. P.N. O’Brien.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who reported that his mount was relaxed when he appeared to catch a heel of the horse in front of him for no apparent reason. In his opinion the incident was accidental and he apportioned no blame to any other rider.

The Stewards authorised the following substitution of rider at this meeting: S.W. Flanagan rode Crooked Jack (reserve), trained by Mr. Seamus Neville (fifth race).
105B Kinnegad Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into possible interference on the approach to the final hurdle involving the winner Supreme Carolina, ridden by R. Walsh, and Seefood, ridden by B.J. Cooper, placed second.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
105C Mullingar Handicap Hurdle & T.J. Doyle, rider of Doctor Henry, trained by Mr. Kieran Purcell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount went lame and that he therefore pulled him up. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Doctor Henry was found to be lame on his left fore post race.
105E Westmeath Beginners Steeplechase & The Stewards received a report from Ms. Joanne Thomas, Order of Malta, and Dr. John Kennedy, Turf Club Medical Officer, regarding the behaviour of S.G. McDermott, rider, following this race.
Evidence was heard from Ms. Thomas, Dr. Kennedy and S.G. McDermott, during which the rider apologised for his actions.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards cautioned S.G. McDermott as to his future behaviour in this regard.
105F Belvedere House, Gardens & Park Handicap Steeplechase & P. Townend, rider of Tico, trained by Mr. W.F. Codd, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was struck into and as a result lost his action. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Tico had an overreach wound on his right fore but was otherwise found to be post race normal.
Leopardstown Meeting, 13th May 2012
106A Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Auction Maiden & The Stewards fined Mr. J.S. Bolger, trainer of Bedecked, €65 for failing to fit a tongue tie to his charge prior to entering the parade ring for this race.
106D Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Wrote, trained by Mr. A.P. O’Brien, was found to be post race normal.
Killarney Meeting, 13th May 2012
107A Killarney Towers Hotel Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the final hurdle and the winning post involving the winner Shamkhal (FR), ridden by R. Walsh, and Faustina Pius, ridden by B. Hayes, placed third.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
107B(ii) Ross Golf Club Maiden Hurdle (Division Two) & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Hangersonallgone, trained by Mr. D.E. Fitzgerald, was found to be lame post race.
Andrew J. McNamara, rider of Noble Steel, trained by Mr. Ronald O’Leary, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at the first hurdle and as a result of that he lost his irons.
107C Ladbrokes.com Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the final hurdle and the winning post involving the winner Satu, ridden by M.P. Butler, and Rattan (USA), ridden by P. Townend, placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that, while interference had taken place, they could not be satisfied that Satu had improved his placing as a result of that interference and therefore made no alteration to the Judges’ placing. The Stewards were, however, of the opinion that M.P. Butler had ridden carelessly and they therefore suspended him for one race day (28th May).
Mr. Eoin Doyle, trainer of Satu, and Mr. W.P. Mullins, trainer of Rattan (USA), both attended this enquiry as observers.
The Stewards enquired into an incident at the end of the back straight involving Rattan (USA), ridden by P. Townend, placed second, False Economy, ridden by B.J. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards gave Andrew J. McNamara the benefit of the doubt and took no further action.
P. Carberry, rider of Realt Dubh, trained by Mr. Noel Meade, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran keen, received a bump and lost his place and did not handle today’s quick ground. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Realt Dubh was found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
107D Kelly Brothers Farm Modernisation Limited Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into an incident on the bottom bend where Cloughmile, ridden by B.J. Geraghty, fell and brought down Bruach Na Mara, ridden by B.J. Cooper, and Wise Oscar, ridden by P. Townend.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, which included a statement from B.J. Geraghty that he may accidentally have clipped heels and statements from B.J. Cooper, and P. Townend, that they were both unavoidably brought down.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted its content.
107E www.themalton.com Steeplechase & The Stewards received a report from Mr. Aidan Bailey, Blue Cross, which stated that Zaarito, ridden by D.N. Russell, was unable to return to the unsaddling enclosure as a result of an injury sustained in running.
Having considered the report, the Stewards were satisfied that Rule 230 (ii) did not apply to D.N. Russell in this instance.
