Smullen, placed second, Hunting Tower (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, and Mubrook (USA), ridden by J.P. Murtagh, unplaced, where it appeared some interference took place.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that C.D. Hayes had ridden carelessly, and having taken his record in this regard into account, they suspended him for two race days (8th and 9th May).

068D Clonmel Hospice Support Group Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed Mr. F. Flood Jnr, authorised representative of Mr. F. Flood, trainer of Jessies Girl, regarding the fact that the passport was not lodged on time for a second vaccination check for this horse which resulted in the horse being withdrawn from this race under the terms of Rule 90(v).

Having considered the evidence, the Stewards fined Mr F. Flood,  €200 through his representative.

Nash, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount reared up on leaving the stalls, changed his legs in running and did not handle today’s ground. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Luisant (GB) was found to be post race normal.

069D Jason Fallon Live July 8th Handicap & P.J. Smullen, rider of Kindest (GB), trained by Ms. Joanna Morgan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly in the straight and that it’s action shortened.

069E Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & C.D. Hayes, rider of Cross Of Canteen, trained by Mr. John J. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly left throughout.

069F Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap & The Stewards interviewed Darren Edward Egan, rider of Silly Dancer, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the straight.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that that his mount was galloping with her head held high but she kept responding to the whip.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Darren Edward Egan was in breach of R10 (2)(f), (excessive frequency) and R10 (3), (failure to give his mount a chance to respond). The Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days (??) and referred him to R.A.C.E for a one day tuition on the correct use of the whip.

The Stewards interviewed Mr. Paul Roche, trainer, concerning his failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for his charge Hawk Dance.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that he found it impossible to secure an experienced apprentice jockey for his horse. He added that the owner would not accept any rider of limited experience and that R.P. Whelan was engaged after his intended mount became a non runner.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed his request for R.P. Whelan to ride, but reminded him of his future responsibilities to nominate a rider by the designated deadline.

070C Munster Waste Management Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. C.A. Murphy, trainer of the winner Captain Paulie, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his horse compared with the animals previous run at Wexford on the 15th April where he finished tenth of 15 finishers  and was beaten 40 lengths by the winner Salesin.
Mr. Murphy reported that his charge was found to be post race normal at Wexford when examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, and subsequently no abnormality had been found. He said he was satisfied to run the horse again today so soon after Wexford and can only assume that his previous victories both here and at Navan may suggest that the gelding needs a galloping track and that the tighter track at Wexford may not have suited him. He also reported that the horse had encountered many training problems in the past.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Mull On The Run, trained by Mr. Paul Nolan, was found to be clinically abnormal post race.

070D Friday Evening Racing At Cork Racecourse Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards received a report from Mr. Patrick Malone, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, that K.H. Clarke, nominated rider for Doransfirth was four pounds overweight at the time of weighing out.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he gave a commitment to Mr. David Martin Kelly, trainer, that he would do the correct weight. He added that he received a leg injury during the week, which he had shown to the racecourse doctor at Clonmel last Thursday, and subsequently had been unable to carry out his daily routine of exercise. He still thought that his weight was in order until arriving here today.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted K.H. Clarke’s explanation, but reminded him that ultimately it is his responsibility to ride at the correct weight. Furthermore, the Stewards allowed the trainers request to substitute K.H. Clarke with P.T. Enright.

070H Cork Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Ten More, trained by Mrs. John Harrington, could not be positively identified against his passport markings.
Evidence was heard from Mr. N. Amond, Authorised Representative for Mrs. Harrington, who stated that the microchip number did correspond with the passport, but that there was no comparison with the markings.
The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Ten More and referred this matter to a Senior Racing Official for further investigation.

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: R.C. Colgan rode Unknown Subject (reserve), trained by Mr. Conor O’Dwyer (first race); D.N. Russell replaced A.P. 071A Fairyhouse Vets Promoting Equine Health Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Golan Guy, ridden by P. Carberry, and trained by Mr. A.J. Martin.
Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence P. Carberry stated that his instructions were to settle his mount in mid division, get him travelling and aim to take it up approaching the last hurdle if possible.
He also stated that his mount was not travelling at the top of Ballyhack, and from there to the turn for home he was constantly niggling away at his mount but getting no response. After turning for home he felt all chance of winning or being placed had gone and he eased off on his mount. He reckoned this gave the horse a chance to fill his lungs because his mount picked up again after jumping the last hurdle. He felt if he continued to niggle at his mount the animal would not have got home and felt he had obtained his best possible placing.
In his evidence Mr. Martin confirmed the instructions and stated that Golan Guy is a most disappointing horse, who has often flattered to deceive in the past, travelling well and emptying quickly on occasions and hitting a flat spot on others. He expressed satisfaction with the ride, knowing how his charge has performed similarly in the past.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, who stated that Golan Guy was found to be post race normal.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.

D.N. Russell, rider of Bravely Fought, trained by Sabrina J. Harty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and was pulled up. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Bravely Fought was found to be lame post race.

R. Loughran, rider of Namarama, trained by Mr. John Queally, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount showed signs of inexperience in the early stages, but stayed on past beaten horses in the straight and may need a longer trip.

071B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final & D.J. Casey, rider of Takeyourcapoff, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled from early on.

M.J. Bolger, rider of Wood Lily, trained by Mrs. John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

071C Family Day At Fairyhouse Novice Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into an incident off the home bend involving Alderwood, ridden by R. Loughran, placed fourth, and Royal Reveille, ridden by R. Walsh, placed fifth, where it appeared that Royal Reveille ran short of room.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

Aidan Coleman, rider of Rough Times, trained by Mr. Michael Hourigan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room in running and clipped heels.

071D I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Novice Handicap Hurdle Series Final & The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving the winner Baracas (FR), ridden by M.J. Bolger, Sir Vincent, ridden by R. Walsh, placed second, Jack Bene, ridden by A.P. Heskin, placed third, and Start Me Up, ridden by D.N. Russell, placed fourth.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while accidental interference did take place, they could not be satisfied any horse improved his finishing position as a result of the interference and so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
Mr. Eoin Griffin, trainer of Baracas (FR) also attended this enquiry.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Bruach Na Mara, trained by Mr. W. Harney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung throughout.

071F Ryan’s Cleaning Events Specialist Beginners Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed Ms. Samantha Donohoe, representing Mr. S. Donohoe, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for his charge Instigator (GB).
Evidence was heard from Ms. Donohoe, who stated that they had tried unsuccessfully all morning on the day of declaration to secure a rider, but with two National Hunt meetings on today, they found it impossible to get a rider to commit on time.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards granted permission for S.E. Butler to ride Instigator (GB) and accepted the explanation offered.

R.M. Moran, rider of Big Rock Candy, trained by Mr. Brian Jordan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount went lame and was pulled up.

Andrew J. McNamara, rider of Elcanos (GER), trained by Mr. A.J. Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was almost brought down early on, but stayed on in the closing stages.

071G Russell Restaurant I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of the winner Reizovic, trained by Mr. John E. Kiely  compared with the horse’s previous run at Limerick on the 13th March  where he finished last of six runners to Mount Benbulben.
Evidence was heard from Mr. Thomas Kiely, representing the trainer, who stated that the ground at Limerick  was quite holding, but today’s good ground is what the horse prefers and in his opinion is the reason for the improved run.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.

The Stewards interviewed Mrs. Frances Austin, representing Mr. W.J. Austin, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for his charge Blazing Sonnet.
Evidence was heard from Mrs. Austin, who stated that she had problems with her internet connection on the morning of declaration and it was too late by the time she rang to declare her rider.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards granted permission for Mr. M. Fahey to ride Blazing Sonnet, but they were not satisfied with the explanation offered, and, fined Mr. Austin €130, through his representative, and reminded him of his responsibilities in this regard.
