The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: the following riders replaced A.P. McCoy (Stewards permission – travel difficulties):- T.G.M. Ryan rode Galvanising (AUS), trained by Mr. C. Roche (first race) and M.P. Walsh rode Head Of The Posse, trained by Mr. John E. Kiely (third race); A.P. Cawley replaced A.P. McCoy (injured) on See U Bob, trained by Mr. Paul Nolan (sixth race).

340B Mongey Communications Novice Handicap Hurdle & P. Townend, rider of Khayar, trained by Mr. E. McNamara, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at the first hurdle and never moved fluently thereafter. He said his mount felt wrong behind and so he pulled him up approaching the last hurdle.

340C Ballymaloe Country Relish Fort Leney Novice Steeplechase & P.W. Flood, rider of Healys Bar, trained by Mr. Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at the third last fence and he consequently pulled the animal up.

340D woodiesdiy.com Christmas Hurdle & The Stewards fined Mr. Laurence James Butler, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Garrai Ard in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

Mrs. John Harrington, trainer of Summit Meeting (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge made a respiratory noise in running.

340E Lexus Steeplechase & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Cooldine, trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, was found to be post race normal.

Limerick Meeting, 28th December 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: S.J. Hassett replaced B.T. O’Connell (intended mount at Leopardstown a non-runner) on Teak, trained by Mr. Adrain Maguire (first race); A.D. Leigh rode Chargen (reserve), trained by Mr. Thomas Mullins (fourth race) and Mr. S.O. O’Brien rode Rosie Kilrain (Stewards permission), trained by Mr. Sean O. O’Brien (seventh race).

341B Holmes O’Malley Sexton Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed Mr. Michael Casey, Authorised Representative for Mr. Michael McDonagh, trainer of El Pina Star, regarding the poor performance of the horse in this race.
Evidence was heard from Mr. Casey.
Following the running of this race El Pina Star was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, at the request of the Stewards, and was found to be post race normal.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards suspended El Pina Star for 60 days.  

E. Mullins, rider of Red Tiger (GB), trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was squeezed on the first bend, was under pressure five furlongs out and did not pick up. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Red Tiger (GB) was found to be coughing and was covered in kickback post race.

341C Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle & The Stewards received a report regarding the fact that the winner, Knockfierna, was unable to reach the unsaddling enclosure as a result of being in distress post race.
The Stewards granted permission to Mr. William Murphy M.R.C.V.S, Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon, to administer treatment immediately in the best interests of the horse. Mr. Murphy in turn submitted a report of the treatment administered.
The Stewards subsequently received a report from Ms. Joan Taylor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer which stated that she had carried out the standard post race procedures used on all winners and she also noted the drug that had been administered to the animal. 

341F Freeman Keane Associates Handicap Steeplechase & P.F. Mangan, rider of D’s Trix, trained by Mr. A.J. McNamara, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise in running. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that D’s Trix was found to be post race normal.

A.P. Crowe, rider of The Hard Hat, trained by Mr. C.A. Murphy, reported to a Turf Club Official that his mount was hampered and was almost brought down twice in this race.

341G Limerick Racecourse Vets I.N.H. Flat Race & Mr. K.E. Power, rider of Stotan, trained by Mr. E.J. O’Grady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a respiratory noise in the back straight. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Stotan was found to be post race normal.

The Stewards fined Mr. James Joseph Mangan, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Castle Wings in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

Leopardstown Meeting, 29th December 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: Ms. K. Walsh rode Beautiful Sound (reserve), trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott (sixth race) and R.M. Power replaced D.N. Russell (injured) on Hold The Pin, trained by Mr. A.J. Martin (seventh race).

368D paddypower.com Future Champions Novice Hurdle & P. Townend, rider of Zaidpour (FR), trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped to his right down the back straight and was unable to pick up when asked for his effort approaching the second last hurdle.

368F Paddy Power Steeplechase & B.J. Geraghty, rider of Venalmar (GB), trained by Mr. M.F. Morris, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled well throughout and was pulled up.

Mr. T. Hogan, trainer of Bohemian Lass, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries at  Limerick on 29th December that his charge scoped badly post race.

368H paddypower.com ‘Future Champions’ (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. S.R. Byrne, rider of the winner Jim Will Fix It, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the Mr. S.R. Byrne had used his whip with excessive frequency, and having taken his previous record in this regard into account, they severely cautioned him.

Limerick Meeting, 29th December 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: D.G. Hogan replaced A.J. McNulty (see enquiry) on Stabilo (GER), trained by Mr. Michael J. McDonagh (sixth race); D.G. Hogan replaced E.F. Power (injured) on Port Ferreol (FR), trained by Mr. Michael J. McDonagh (seventh race); M.F. Mooney rode Pocketsandperry (reserve), trained by Mr. Ronan O’Dwyer (seventh race) and Mr. P.E. Corbett rode Croghan Hill (see enquiry), trained by Mr. Mark L. Fagan (eighth race).

The Stewards fined the following trainer €200 in respect of his non-runner: Mr. P.C. O’Connor for Oscar Rabbit (off feed).

343B Anglo Printers Mares Maiden Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Rochester Falls, trained by Mr. Mr. S.J. Treacy, was found to be lame post race.

343D Guinness Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards received a request from Mr. Michael Casey, Authorised Representative for Mr. Michael J. McDonagh, trainer of Stabilo (GER), to substitute the nominated rider A.J. McNulty with D.G. Hogan, as permission for A.J. McNulty to carry five pounds overweight had earlier been refused by the Stewards.
Evidence was heard from A.J. McNulty, who stated that he was informed yesterday evening by Mr. Casey that he was declared to ride Stabilo (GER) at that time he was aware that he was some pounds overweight so he tried very hard to lose the excess weight, but despite his best efforts he was unable to do the correct weight.
In his evidence Mr. Casey stated that Mr. McDonagh had nominated A.J. McNulty before 12.30 p.m. yesterday, but had failed to inform the rider.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. McDonagh was in breach of Regulation 3 (4) and therefore fined him €250 through his representative.
The Stewards also informed A.J. McNulty that in this situation there was an extenuating circumstance through a late call which had contributed to he being unable to do the weight. However, the Stewards advised the rider that he must keep his trainer informed at all times if he has an ongoing difficulty with his weight.
The Stewards allowed the request for D.G. Hogan to ride Stabilo (GER).

343E Dinform Beginners Steeplechase & D.G. Hogan, rider of Port Ferreol (FR), trained by Mr. Michael J. McDonagh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly throughout.

E. Mullins, rider of Uncle Junior, trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, reported to a Turf Club Official that his mount was found to have blood in his nostril post race.

B.C. Byrnes, rider of Mountain Lough, trained by Mr. C. Byrnes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he gave his mount every chance to jump as the horse had fallen in his previous two races. He said the animal stayed on, but he did not think that the horse could have finished any closer.

343F O’Kelly Bros. Demolition & Enviromental Contractors Hurdle & N.P. Madden, rider of Big Game Hunter, trained by Mr. M.F. Morris, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well in the early stages, but appeared to lose interest with a circuit to run. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Big Game Hunter was found to be lame post race.

343G GGL Security 24/7 Alarm I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards interviewed Mr. Mark L. Fagan, trainer of Croghan Hill, concerning his failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for his charge in this race.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that the horse was liable for ballot and looked unlikely to get a run. However, the horse did survive the ballot, but  he was then unable to contact the rider to confirm his availability and therefore did not declare him.
Mr. Fagan subsequently requested the substitution of Mr. P.E. Corbett.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request but cautioned Mr. Fagan concerning his responsibility to conform with the Regulation pertaining to the nomination of riders. ??

Limerick Meeting, 30th December 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: the following riders replaced D.E. Splaine (injured): K. Whelan rode Sheer Genius, trained by Mr. John Joseph Murphy (first race) and E.F. Power rode Tingamajig, trained by Mr. Ruaidhri Joseph Tierney (second race).

339A Roches Feeds Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards received a report from Mr. T.V. O’Connell, Turf Club Clerk of the Course, regarding the failure of Luddsdenene, trained by Mr. P.J. Rothwell, to be present in the parade ring before the signal to mount was given, which delayed the star of this race.
The Stewards interviewed Mr.Rothwell who apologised for his horse’s late arrival into the parade ring which was due to the need to replace a noseband in the stableyard.
Having considered the report and the trainer’s evidence, the Stewards found that Mr. Rothwell was in breach of Rule 32 (ii), and having taken his good previous record into account, they fined him €100.

The Stewards fined Mrs Grainne M. O’Connor, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Tullymackan in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

339C Goggin Buckley Engineering Handicap Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Champion Gold, trained by Mr. Charles Coakley, was found to be lame post race.

339D Cornstore Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards received a report Mr. T.V. O’Connell, Turf Club Clerk of the Course, regarding the failure of Raise The Rafters, trained by Mr. T. Hogan, High Notes, trained by Mr. Ronald O’Leary, and Brave Heart, trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon, to be present in the parade ring before the signal to mount was given.
The Stewards received evidence from Mr. Hogan, Ms. Charmaine O’Neill, Authorised Representative for Mr. Hanlon, and Mr. David Collins, Authorised Representative for Mr. O’Leary.  
Having considered the report and the trainer’s and the Authorised Representatives evidence, the Stewards severely cautioned the three trainers, Mr. Hanlon, and Mr. O’Leary, through their representatives, concerning their responsibility to comply with Rule 32 (ii). The Stewards took into consideration the fact that this race started on time.

K.T. Coleman, rider of Lucky Dolphin, trained by Mr. F. Costello, reported to a Turf Club Official that his mount lost its action and felt lame.

339E Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving the winner Questions Answered, ridden by S.W. Jackson, and Silent Creek, ridden by A.P. Crowe, placed third.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that no alteration to the Judge’s placings was necessary. They did, however, advise S.W. Jackson to ride with more care in the future.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. T.V. O’Connell, Turf Club Clerk of the Course, regarding the failure of Clew Bay Cove and Kimberlite King, both trained by Mr. C.A. Murphy, to be present in the parade ring before the signal to mount was given, which delayed the start of this race.
The Stewards interviewed Mr. John Codd, Authorised Representative for Mr. Murphy, who apologised for the horses’ late arrival into the parade ring which was caused by a staff shortage and that fact that they had to borrow breast girths.  
Having considered the report and the trainer’s representative’s evidence, the Stewards found that Mr. Murphy was in breach of Rule 32 (ii), and having taken his good previous record into account, they fined him €100 per runner through his representative.

Mr. Robert Alan Hennessy, trainer of Rubi Light (FR), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge scoped badly post race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Rubi Light (FR) was found to be clinically abnormal post race.

339F Earl Of Harrington Memorial Maiden Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Turf Club Starter, stating that Mr. K.E. Power, rider of Ballyverane Oscar, Mr. A. McCurtin, rider of Euro Farmer, Mr. B.O. Walsh, rider of Flashey Vic, Mr. J.J. King, rider of Kilmurry Kid, Mr, J.J. Dullea, rider of Mayo Calling, and Mr, G.M. Mangan, rider of O Crotaigh, had all failed to obey his instructions and caused a false start. 
Evidence was heard from Mr. Malone and also from Mr. T.V. O’Connell, Turf Club Clerk of the Course, and the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the six riders were in breach of rule 40.
Having taken into consideration that all the riders had admitted that they did not comply with the Starters instructions and also the fact that they all had good previous records, the Stewards suspended Messrs Power, McCurtin, Walsh, King, Dullea and Mangan for two race days. (13th and 15th January).

Mr. W.T. Burke, trainer of Mickey Blue Eyes (GER), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have a burst blood vessel post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

Down Royal Meeting, 30th December 2010

335B I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Tammy’s Hill, ridden by L. McNiff, and trained by Mr. Liam Lennon.
Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence L. McNiff stated that he was informed that the horse had missed work due to the inclement weather and that this was his first run on a racecourse and to do his best without resorting to the whip.
In his evidence Mr, Lennon confirmed the instructions and said he was satisfied with the ride.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, who reported that Tammy’s Hill coughed when examined, but was otherwise found to be post race normal 
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the evidence given.  

Mr. Patrick O. Brady, trainer of He’s Our Man, reported to a Turf Club Official, that the tongue strap became dislodged during the race.

335C Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Lucky Spring, ridden by A.P. Thornton, placed fourth, Lynott, ridden by L. McNiff, placed fifth, and Alwaystheoptimist (GB), ridden by M.J. Bolger, unplaced, where it appeared that Lucky Spring, and Lynott, both received interference.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that M.J. Bolger had ridden carelessly and they therefore suspended him for two race days. (13th and 15th January).
Mr. Patrick Martin, trainer of Lucky Spring, also attended this enquiry.

S.J. Hassett, rider of Ebony Shades, trained by Mr. Muredach Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a noise in running.

335E Adam& Ann Armstrong Memorial Handicap Steeplechase & J.M. Maguire, rider of Imperial Storm, trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was found to have a burst blood vessel post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

335F Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association Northern Region Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards fined Mr. John Joseph Hanlon, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Vincent Pipe in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

Leopardstwon Meeting, 30th December 2010

336A Bord Na Mona Clean Air Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards fined Mr. Paul John Gilligan, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Nephin Ladies in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

D.N. Russell, rider of Zagman, trained by Mr. Paul Nolan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a mistake in the back straight, lost its action in the home straight and was eased.

336B Bord Na Mona Clean Water Maiden Hurdle & D.J. Casey, rider of Fever Pitch, trained by Mr. A.L.T. Moore, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a few mistakes in the back straight before staying on well past beaten horses in the closing stages.

P. Carberry, rider of Worldor (FR), trained by Mr. Martin Brassil, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped deliberately in the early stages having been unsettled by a faller, but stayed on well past beaten horses in the closing stages.

P.T. Enright, rider of Sea Diamond, trained by Mr. Robert Tyner, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped deliberately, and was outpaced three out before staying on well past beaten horses in the closing stages.

336C Bord Na Mona Fire Magic Juvenile Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Toner D’Oudairies (FR), trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, was found to be blowing hard post race.

336D Bord Na Mona Clean Energy Handicap Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Fool’s Wildcat (USA), trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, was found to be post race normal.

366E Bord Na Mona With Nature Novice Steeplechase & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Mikael D’Haguenet (FR), trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, was found to be post race normal.

336F Bord Na Mona Firepak Handicap Steeplechase & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Smoking Aces, trained by Mr. T.J. Taaffe, was found to be post race normal.

Punchestown Meeting, 31st December 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of rider at this meeting: the following rider replaced B.J. Cooper (injured):- P.W. Flood rode Coscorrig, trained by Mr. D.T. Hughes (second race) and Lucky William, trained by Mr. Thomas Cooper (fourth race).

The Stewards fined the following trainer €200 in each case in respect of his non-runners:-Mr. Gordon Elliott for Bacher Boy (off feed) and Caracal (GB) (off feed).

The Stewards interviewed A.D. Leigh, rider of the winner Four Chimneys, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount can be a difficult ride, was wearing first time blinkers today and kept responding for pressure. However he accepted that his use of the whip was not within the guidelines.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that A.D. Leigh had used his whip with excessive frequency, and having taken his record in this regard into account, they suspended him for three race days (15th, 16th and 20th January).

The Stewards interviewed Mr. S.R.B Crawford, trainer, regarding the late arrival of his charge Killyglen into the parade ring prior to the running of this race.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who accepted that his charge was late into the parade ring and added that he was delayed as a result of having to change the girth during the saddling process.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Crawford was in breach of rule 32 (ii), (which refers to having horses in the parade ring in reasonable time) and having taken his record in this regard into account, they fined him €100.

The Stewards interviewed Mr. John Joseph Hanlon, trainer, regarding the late arrival of his charge Luska Lad into the parade ring prior to the running of this race.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who accepted that his charge was late into the parade ring and added that he had been delayed as a result of watching a horse of his running in the 2.05 race at Tramore and was further delayed by having to change the surcingle on his charge.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Hanlon was in breach of Rule 32 (ii) (which refers to having horses in the parade ring in reasonable time) and having taken his record in this regard into account, they fined him €100.

344E Festival Hospitality On Sale 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle & P.W. Flood, rider of Dart Queen (GER), trained by Mr. A.L.T. Moore, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran free and green throughout, was not fluent, ran short of room turning for home and may need better ground.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Red Sparky, trained by Mr. J. Larkin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount became distracted and tried to jump the running rail approaching the turn for home and lost ground and momentum as a result.

344F Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Well Insured, trained by Mr. D.J. Barry, was found to be lame post race.

Tramore Meeting, 31st December 2010

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: the following riders replaced J.L. Cullen (Stewards permission):- A.P. Crowe rode Pretty Valira, trained by Mr. Stephen Michael Cox (third race); Miss N. Carberry rode Ardglen, trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon (fourth race) and J.R. Barry rode Fennis Boy, trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon (fifth race); the following riders replaced E. Mullins (injured):- D.J. Condon rode Wee Giant (USA), trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins (second race) and S.G. McDermott rode Paddy The Amateur, trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins (third race).

345A Graun Hill Mares Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of the winner Three Monkeys, trained by Mr. P.J. Rothwell, compared with the horse’s previous two runs at Thurles and Cork on the 10th December and the 4th November when the horse was 66 lengths last and 72 lenghts 14th of 17 runners respectively.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that he was pleasantly surprised by today’s win and the only possible explanation he could think of for the improvement in form was that there was a change of tactics today. He said the mare was allowed to bowl along in front and had an easy lead. He felt the rider S.W. Jackson gave her an opportunistic ride and she benefited accordingly.
Evidence was also heard from Mr. A. Shaw I.N.H.S.C. Handicapper.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.

The Stewards fined Miss Sharon Dunphy, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Summer Surprise in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

345C Guillemene Maiden Hurdle & Ms. M. Flynn, trainer of Turtlelass, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge was found to have a cut on her near fore and was in season post race. This was confirmed to the Stewards by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

The Stewards fined Mr. E. Sheehy, trainer, €65 for failing to fit a tongue tie to his charge Happy Milly prior to entering the parade ring for this race.

345D Pickardstown Handicap Hurdle & E.F. Power, rider of Mr Pernickety, trained by Mr. R.P. Burns, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount slipped up independently on the bend past the stands.

345E www.tramore-racecourse.com Beginners Steeplechase & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. Eoghan O’Grady, trainer of the winner Maryiver, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge in this race compared with the horse’s previous run.
Mr. O’Grady reported that the horse was wearing cheekpieces for the first time today and this had rekindled her enthudaism for racing and jumping. He added that her return to Tramore, where she had won previously, had helped.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.

Fairyhouse Meeting, 1st January 2011

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: the following riders replaced B.J. Cooper (injured):- I.J. McCarthy rode The Recovery, trained by Mr. D.T. Hughes (first race) and Noel Browne, trained by Mr. Thomas Cooper (second race); A.P. Heskin rode On Your Way (GB), trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle (third race) and P.T. Enright rode Not Before Eight, trained by Mr. Thomas Cooper (fifth race); P. Carberry replaced T.C. Carroll (intended mount a non-runner), trained by Mr. Noel Meade (sixth race) and T.C. Carroll replaced Andrew J. McNamara (injured) on Caduceus, trained by Mr. P. Hughes (sixth race).

The Stewards gave permission for the seventh fence to be omitted from today’s Steeplechase Races due to ground conditions in the area of this fence.

001B Bobbyjo Bistro Maiden Hurdle & Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Thirteen Up, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge made a respiratory noise in running.

E. Mullins, rider of I’m Still Standing, trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung throughout this race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that I’m Still Standing was found to be post race normal.

001E Ashbourne Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired from Mr. T. Foley, trainer of the winner Might Be Magic (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge in this race compared to the horse’s last run at Gowran  Park on the 20th November 2010 where he finished  12th of 19 runners to Tornedo Stay.
Mr. Foley stated that the horse had jumped poorly at Gowran Park, which was uncharacteristic of him. He explained that he put a tongue-tie on the horse today for the first time and this appears to have benefited him accordingly.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered and took no further action.


Mr. M. Halford, trainer of Shanrod, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was always struggling on the ground.

001H Porterstown Handicap Steeplechase The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of the winner Droim Toll, trained by Mr. D. Hassett, compared with the horse’s previous run at Limerick on the 7th Nov 2010, where the horse finished 77 lenghts last.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that the horse had had a wind operation after it’s summer break and he may have run him too soon after the procedure. He felt that the horse had come on from his run at Limerick, but was pleasantly surprised with today’s performance.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

Tramore Meeting, 1st January 2011

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of rider at this meeting: the following riders replaced J.L. Cullen (Stewards permission):- T.J. Doyle rode Ephorus (USA), trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon (first race); K. Whelan rode Saint Breiz (FR), trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon (third race) and Mr. B. Hayes rode Stowaway Pearl, trained by Mr. John Joseph Hanlon (fourth race).

The Stewards fined the following trainer €200 in each case in respect of his non-runners: Mr. Gordon Elliott for Fool’s Wildcat (USA) (off feed) and Imperial Storm (off feed).

002E Holden Plant Rentals Steeplechase & D.J. Condon, rider of Carthalawn, trained by Mr. Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made two bad mistakes, lost his confidence and was subsequently pulled up.

002G Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed Mr. Eoin Doyle, trainer, concerning his failure to declare a mandatory four pounds winners penalty before the designated time for his charge Come To The Party, which won a steeplechase the previous day.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that the omission was a complete oversight on his part for which he apologised.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. Doyle was in breach of Rule 194(ii(a) and fined him €200.  

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Come To The Party, trained by Mr. Eoin Doyle, was found to be blowing hard post race.

Naas Meeting, 2nd January 2011

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting: A.P. Crowe replaced K.M. Donoghue (Stewards permission) on Sam Hall (FR), trained by Mr. Patrick Griffin (first race) and K.M. Donoghue replaced J.P. O’Farrell (transport difficulties) on Twentypoundluck, trained by Mr. Patrick Griffin (first race).

003A Annual Membership At Naas Maiden Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Mr Bits And Pieces, trained by Mr. J.A. Nash, was found to be post race normal.

003B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Novice Steeplechase & D.G. Hogan, rider of Comaun Buck, trained by Mr. Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount could not lie up with the pace and did not handle today’s ground. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Comaun Buck was found to be post race normal.

003C Slaney Novice Hurdle & P. Townend, rider of Bishopsfurtz, trained by Mr. W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly and made a bad mistake four hurdles from the finish.

003D Tipper Road Handicap Steeplechase & Mr. Garvan Donnelly, trainer of Inistioge, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge scoped badly post race.

003E Racing Again On Saturday 15th January Maiden Hurdle & D.T. Evans, rider of Rainforest Magic, trained by Mr. D.K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly throughout.
