Maxwell, placed third and Fightfortheroses, ridden by T. Joseph Kelly, placed fifth, where it appeared that Schmidt may have caused interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In evidence P.T. Enright stated that the outside horse had rolled in for the bend and everything happened very quickly. T. Joseph Kelly stated that he was riding on the inner when he felt little contact but on reflection admitted that contact had been made with his horses hind quarters. C.D. Maxwell stated that his mount was running free when he was trying to avoid clipping heels. He accepted that he had caused the incident but felt that he was in trouble at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards gave C.D. Maxwell the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and took no action. The Stewards reminded T. Joseph Kelly of his obligation to give accurate evidence at Stewards enquiries.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Molly Wedger, ridden by B. Hayes, and trained by Dermot P. O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the trainer and rider concerned. Dermot P. O'Brien, trainer, stated that B. Hayes had ridden this filly on the last occasion and today he instructed him to get her settled and to do his best. He advised the Stewards that this filly had always been under his care and that she was not clear winded but resented a tongue strap when it was tried previously. He was satisfied with the ride. B. Hayes, rider, stated that he was mindful of the opposition and had a game plan but his mount got keen on the downhill run on the first circuit and he took her back to get cover. He added that his mount was still keen going out on the last circuit but made a respiratory noise at the top of the hill before gathering herself and running on past tired horses on the run to the finish. He felt that he had achieved his best possible placing. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Molly Wedger was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations and took no further action

Treacy stated that he did not see the fall but had to jump over the fallen animal. P.T. Enright stated that he was on the inside of the faller and maintaining his line. J.S. McGarvey stated that he did not feel his mounts heel being clipped. Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the fall, the Stewards accepted J.C.
