The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D. Meyler rode Frazel Express (reserve) trained by James M. Barcoe (Race 3)

091B Copper Coast H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired from Shane Fitzgerald regarding his fall on flat coming down the hill. Shane Fitzgerald reported that his mount fell independently. Having reviewed a recording of the incident the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pidoyne, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have lost its left front shoe and found a small wound on its left front coronary band and also to be slightly lame.

091C Anne Valley Walk H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ian Patrick Donoghue, trainer, following the winning performance of Brownstone, in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on its previous run when pulling up in Punchestown. Ian Patrick Donoghue stated that heavy ground on his latest run caused his mount to pull up and a return to a sounder surface today has brought about an apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed E.M. O'Sullivan, rider of Stradbally Village, in relation to his failure to pull his mount up when it has clearly no more to give. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount can be lazy and felt he could continue to finish. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that E.M. O'Sullivan was in breach of Rule 216(ii) (b) and having taken his record into consideration they suspended him for 2 racedays.

091D Tramore Promenade Beginners S'chase

B. Hayes, rider of Gali Flight (FR), trained by Philip Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up injured.

L. Quinlan, rider of Thedancingfarrier, trained by Paul Stephen Kiely, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. The I.H.R.B Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed Thedancingfarrier, had blood at both nostrils post race.

P.Cluskey, trainer of Mythical Times, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge burst a blood vessel. The I.H.R.B Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed Mythical Times, had blood at its right nostril post race possibly following a fall.

091F Gaultier Hunters S'chase

Martin Paul Fitzgerald, trainer of Carrig Wells, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was in season post race.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference on the turn towards the second last fence involving Nice To Meet, ridden by Mr M.J. O'Connor, placed fifth, and Carrig Wells, ridden by Mr D.M. Fitzgerald, placed sixth, where it appeared Nice To Meet suffered interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, Mr. M.J O'Connor stated that he suffered interference from his outside and clipped a heel. Mr. D.M. Fitzgerald stated that he went for a gap on the inside of the leaders at that point in the race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alterations to the Judges placings, however they found that Mr. D.M. Fitzgerald was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden Improperly. Having considered his record in this regard(first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for seven racedays.

The Raceday Stewards wished to hold an enquiry into an incident on the bend out of the back straight involving Ballinrea, ridden by Mr M.J. McGrath, Carrig Wells, ridden by Mr D.M. Fitzgerald, Dromleigh, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, and Tuff Days, ridden by Mr C.J. Shine, where it appeared interference may have occurred. As Mr. D. O'Connor was unable to attend this enquiry due to being medically attended to following a fall, the Raceday Stewards referred the matter onto the Referrals Committee.
