164A Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dn

The Stewards received a report from Andrew Tyrrell M.R.C.V.S, IHRB Veterinary Officer, in relation to a discrepancy found when identifying Easky Maid a declared runner in this race, trained by Edward P. Mitchell. Andrew Tyrrell stated that the original microchip had disappeared and was replaced by a new microchip. The record of this new microchip was not on record when checked through Weatherby's Ireland. Edward P. Mitchell stated that he had forwarded the passport for Easky Maid to Weatherby's Ireland with a supporting letter from his attending Veterinary Surgeon and believed that it's return to him rendered all facts to be updated and in order. Having considered the veterinary report and the trainer's evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Easky Maid could not be positively identified in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(iii) and ordered the withdrawal of the filly. Acting Stewards Mr. M.J. Doyle and Mr. J.P. Barry were not present at this enquiry and Mr. Michael O'Donoghue deputised as an Acting Steward.

The trainer reported that his charge failed to handle the down hill run at Down Royal whereas todays level track and the application of first time cheek pieces brought about the improved run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

Having considered the report and viewed a recording of that part of the race, the Stewards were satisfied that the Amalfi Coast fell independently and no action was warranted.
