029B Racing Again February 23rd H'cap S'chase

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference after the final fence involving Chainofconsequence, ridden by G. Brouder, placed second, and Added Bonus, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed first, where it appeared contact was made when both horses were upsides. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, G. Brouder stated that his mount had landed steep over the final fence but on picking up, Added Bonus had come in and bumped his own mount. D.J. O'Keeffe stated that his mount had jumped the last well and he felt contact when Chainofconsequence drifted towards his own mount but felt that the best horse had won. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

G. Brouder, rider of Chainofconsequence, trained by Aengus King, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump after the final fence.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Junior Rattler, trained by Oliver McKiernan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

029D Leugh Rated Novice H'dle

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Riaan, placed first, as compared with its previous run in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown on the 31st December when finishing sixteenth of seventeen finishers to the winner San Salvador. Camilla Sharples, Authorised representative for Gordon Elliott, reported that their charge got no run during the race at Punchestown. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

029E M'dn H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Dinoland (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

029F Killinan H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident after the penultimate hurdle involving Presenting Point, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed third, Rideau Canal, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed fourth, and Thecornerhouse, ridden by E. Dwan, placed first, where it appeared that Thecornerhouse was tight for room when trying to challenge between horses. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

L. Quinlan, rider of Toor Hawk, trained by Ms.M.Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount flipped her palate three hurdles from the finish and furthermore was lame on pulling up.
