The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

Gearoid O'Loughlin, trainer of Whatsyourstatus (Off Feed) - €200
Stephen McConville, trainer of Perfect Pupil (Off Feed) - €200

413A Thurles Beginners S'chase

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the home turn involving Crossing The Bar, ridden by C.P. Millar, placed second, and Individualiste (FR), ridden by K.M. Donoghue, placed first, where it appeared Crossing The Bar was forced to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.P. Millar stated that he ran short of room on the home turn but felt he did not have enough horse to fill the gap at the time. K.M. Donoghue stated that he overtook Zolpharine at the second last fence and rode his line to the bend afterwards. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

J. Coen, rider of Muskerry Rock, trained by M.F.Morris, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped slightly left early on.

413B Killinan H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Birdsandthebees, trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding a false start (second approach) of this race, where it appeared that Mr Alan O'Sullivan, rider of King Ferdinand, T.P. Harney, rider of Jack Holiday, P.K. Donovan, rider of The Little Yank and C.M. Quirke, rider of Sea Road Fill anticipated the start causing a false start. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. Alan O'Sullivan stated that the track layout was narrow and his horse simply followed those next to him. T.P. Harney stated that it was a competitive start and he reacted to the horses on his inner. P.K. Donovan stated that he did not want to be handy but his mount is difficult and simply followed those around him. C.M. Quirke stated that everybody wanted to be handy and his horse went forward with the others. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found each the above named riders in breach of Rule 208(iii)(b)(putting their mount into a trot or canter with a view to taking an advantage before the race was started - flag still up) and in considering their respective records, they suspended Mr. Alan O'Sullivan, T.P Harney and C.M. Quirke for one raceday (first offence) and P.K. Donovan for two racedays (second offence).

P.T. Enright, rider of Winding River, trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right turning causing him to catch the rail. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the footage and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

413C www.thurlesraces.ie M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards interviewed L.A. McKenna, rider of Artic Lane, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. L.A. McKenna accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found L.A. McKenna in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and in considering his record in this regard (first offence) they suspended him for two racedays.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend leaving the back straight involving My Lyka (GB), ridden by B. Hayes, unplaced, Plunkett Street (GB), ridden by D.E. Mullins, unplaced, Bold Passion, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed Fourth, and Gold Fever, ridden by D. Meyler, unplaced, where it appeared Bold Passion ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sam Ewing stated that he ran short of room and had to check. B. Hayes stated that he had to take back as the horses in front of him tightened up and his mount shifted right onto the rail. D.E. Mullins stated that he was holding his line as they came back to the rail. D. Meyler stated that his mount rolled to his right at that point as the runners tightened up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

413D Ballagh (Mares) H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards fined P.J. Rothwell trainer, €65 for failing to fit the declared cheekpieces to Ar Nos Na Gaoithe prior to entering the parade ring.

413F Racing Again December 21 (M) H'cap H'dle

Prior to the running of this race the Going was changed to Good, Good to Yielding in places.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fillusin, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Fillusin, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left from the turn into the home straight.

413G Horse & Jockey H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Willywampus, trained by Eamon Courtney, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.P. Millar, rider of Arabian King (GB), trained by Cian Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

The Raceday Stewards reviwed the riders first approach to the starter in ths race before he had mounted the rostrum. Having considered the matter they were satisfied that Vroomvroomboo had ran free on P.K. Donovan despite his best efforts and Jetaway To Getaway ridden by B.W. Harvey had followed despite his best efforts. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied no further action was warranted.
