The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

John O. Clifford, trainer of Davitt Road Glory (Declared in error) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

L. A. McKenna rode Rockaway Beach (reserve), trained by A.J.Martin (Race 1)
S. D. Torrens rode Hughies Bay (reserve), trained by Daniel John Howard (Race 6)
Mr. H. C. Swan rode The Bandit (reserve), trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 7)

025A Templemore Beginners S'chase

T. Ryan, rider of Beating The Odds trained by W.J.Austin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with interference from the loose horse.

A.W. Short, rider of Hungry Tiger trained by Patrick Griffin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered at the second.

025B Racing Again February 25th H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Shopping Around, trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Carnet De Stage, trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have pulled a left fore shoe but to be otherwise post race normal.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of Shopping Around trained by J.T.R.Dreaper, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and made a bad mistake up the back.

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Knockraha Boss trained by Richard Anthony Foley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a couple of mistakes.

The Stewards enquired from B. Hayes, rider of Chalky White who fell on the flat in this race. The rider reported that his mount fell independently of any other horse having sustained an injury. Having considered the report and viewed a recording of the race, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Stewards requested a report from Louise G. Lyons, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Espion Du Chenet (FR), placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Louise G. Lyons stated that her charge was returning from a small break after a bad fall and had found the ground far too testing and had gotten very tired on it's previous run. She added that the better ground today had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

025C thurles.ie M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Gorki D'airy (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

At the request of the Stewards, Mr P.W. Mullins, rider of Gorki D'airy (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

At the request of the Stewards, A. McCurtin, rider of Mammy Shark, trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was flat out for the first circuit and then stayed on by tired horses.

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Schone Aussicht (GER) trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount made a bad mistake at the third last.

The Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Hamundarson, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that J. W. Kennedy was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered J. W. Kennedy's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Cregane Ned, ridden by Mr M.J. O'Connor, and trained by Paul O'Flynn. Evidence was heard from the rider and the Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned. Mr M.J. O'Connor, stated that his instructions were to drop in two thirds of the way back and that his mount is a very difficult sort who dislodged him on the way to the start and had previously refused to race. Furthermore, he stated that his mount jumped well and was very fit but he felt that they had gone too quick up front and that his mounts fitness had then got him back into the race. Tom O'Flynn, Authorised representative for the trainer, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He also outlined the difficulties that they have had with this horse. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Cregane Ned was distressed post race. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence and the view of the Veterinary Officer, the Stewards noted the explanation given.

025E Holycross M'dn H'dle

S.D. Torrens, rider of Patriot Poet trained by P. Corcoran, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung severely left.

E. Walsh, rider of Ticking Tom trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

P. Townend, rider of Fais Ton Chemin (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up lame having struck into itself. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer confirmed the injury upon examination post race.

025G JohnThomas McNamara Series INH Flat Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Bandit, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

The Stewards interviewed Mr M.J.M. O'Sullivan, rider of Spanish Present, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had lost count and gone over the limit. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. M. J. M. O'Sullivan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered Mr. M. J. M. O'Sullivan's record in this regard The Stewards suspended Mr. M. J. M. O'Sullivan for two racedays.

Mr A.J. Fox, rider of Terr Byrne trained by James Gerard Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up distressed.
