The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. H.T. Hynes, that C. Flynn, rider of Nakao (GB), requested to weigh out 3lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that she was able to do the weight of 8st 4lbs, however her official minimum riding weight is 8st 7lbs and it is intended to get this amended in the near future. She reminded the Stewards that this was her first ride and the horse is owned by her mother and trained by her father. P.W. Flynn, trainer, informed the Stewards that he was satisfied for C. Flynn to carry the 3lbs overweight if permission is granted. The Stewards noted 2lbs overweight had already been declared and took the view that there were exceptional circumstances and allowed the request on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed S.M. Crosse, rider of Kadupul (FR), concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that while he was in breach of the guidelines the last stike was used as a corrective measure to help keep his horse straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that the last hit was for a corrective purpose and the remaining hits were within the guidelines and therefore were satisfied that S.M. Crosse was not in breach of Regulation 10.3 and took no further action.
