The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.J. Slevin replaced P.V. O'Brien on Sir Psycho, trained by Harry Derham (in GB) (Race 2)(injured)

103B EMS Copiers Novice H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mister Policeman (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Flanking Maneuver, trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered by the fall of Sir Psycho.

103E Boodles Champion H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident that occurred after the last hurdle involving Irish Point (FR), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed second, and State Man (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared Irish Point got tight for room on the inside. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.W. Kennedy said his mount jumped the hurdle well at the same time as State Man jumped right and as result he caught a heel. P. Townend said his horse jumped right the whole way throughout the race and on the run to the last he was conscious of this so was making his best effort to to keep his mount straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found P. Townend was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays. In arriving at their decision, the Raceday Stewards took into account that State Man jumped right throughout and therefore P. Townend should have been aware of the possibility of his horse jumping right causing interference after the last and as such, should have taken reasonable steps to avoid causing the interference.

103G Uniquely Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Billericay Dickie, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from William Durkan, trainer, following the winning performance of Eagle Fang in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on its previous run(s). William Durkan, trainer, stated that his last run was in a very competitive race at the Cheltenham festival and todays race represented a drop in grade. Having liaised with the IHRB Handicapper, the Raceday Stewards considered the report and noted the explanation offered.

103H Howden Insurance Brokers INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Coyote Spirit, ridden by Mr J.R. Martin, Fishery Lane (FR), ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, I Am Mimi (FR), ridden by Mr D.G. Lavery, Jackmoon (FR), ridden by Mr D. Allen, Masterboy Davis (FR), ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, and Syracus Du Houx (FR), ridden by Mr J.C. Barry where it appeared several horses got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. J.R. Martin said he was on the outside and didn't receive any interference. Mr. P.W. Mullins stated that he was on the inside and kept his line. Mr. D.G. Lavery said he received pressure from both sides. Mr. D. Allen said he had to take a check after getting pressure from the inside. Mr. H.C. Swan said he kept his line throughout the bend. Mr. J.C. Barry said he got pressure from both sides. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

Mr P. Hanlon, rider of Half A Chance, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too free.
