The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D.J. O'Keeffe replaced J.C. Gainford on Favori De Champdou (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 4) (Stood down)

097A Adare Manor Opportunity Final H'cap H'dl

D.J Gilligan, rider of Level Neverending, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left turning into the straight.

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Privilege (GB), trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up having lost its action.

C. Brassil, rider of Sam Magee, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on leaving the back straight involving Ideal Pal, ridden by S. Fitzgerald, Unanswered (GB), ridden by L.A. McKenna, and Low Lie The Fields, ridden by H. Morgan, where it appeared that Unanswered (GB) was tight for room when racing along the inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined La Malmason, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, K.E. Buckley, rider of La Malmason, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was flat out throughout this race.

097B Connolly's RED MILLS EBF Auct.Hdle Final

M.P. Walsh, rider of Rocco Bay, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount felt unsound and was pulled up.

097C Louis Fitzgerald Hotel H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Grangeclare West, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was warm at the start.

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Port Stanley, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was warm at the start.

B.W. Harvey, rider of Riggs, trained by P. Cluskey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was warm at the start.

S.W. Flanagan, rider of Un Des Flos (FR), trained by H. Rogers, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount became very distressed at the start.

Rachael Blackmore, rider of Tag Man, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount was warm at the start.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances whereby Imagine (FR) and Perfect Attitude (GB), both trained by Gordon Elliott, had to be re-weighed and re-saddled prior to this race resulting in a thirteen minute delay to the start. Evidence was heard from Gordon Elliott who admitted that the wrong saddles were placed on the wrong horses by a staff member. He added that he was not present at the time of saddling but accepted full responsibility for the error and apologised for the inconvenience caused. Having considered evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Gordon Elliott was in breach of Rule 148(i) and having taken his clean record into consideration, fined him €500.

097D Irish Mirror Novice H'dle

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Salvador Ziggy, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Embassy Gardens (GB), ridden by D.E. Mullins, and Franciscan Rock, ridden by R.A. Doyle where it appeared that Embassy Gardens (GB) ran off his racing line and bumped Franciscan Rock. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence R.A. Doyle stated that he was maintaining his racing line rounding the bend when his mount received a bump from Embassy Gardens (GB) but it did not affect his momentum. D.E. Mullins stated that his mount was losing his position when brushing off Franciscan Rock. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

097F Race & Stay At Punchestown INH Flat Race

Miss J. Townend, rider of It's For Me (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount hung left and ran freely.

097G HSS Hire H'cap S'chase

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from John C. McConnell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Hereditary Rule, placed first, as compared with its recent form at Cheltenham on the 16th March and Aintree on the 14th April. The trainer reported that the better ground conditions and the drop in class of the race appeared to contribute to the improved performance. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

097H Weatherbys GSB EBF (Mares) INH Flat Race

Mr J.J. Codd, rider of Bold Reflection, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race.
