At the request of the Raceday Stewards, P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Away To Milan, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was an inexperienced jumper which jumped poorly on his most recent run at Cork but jumped better today and improved as the race progressed before staying on in the closing stages.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Battle It Out, trained by Conor O'Dwyer, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was a big novicey individual having his second run. He added that he was instructed to drop out his mount and to do his best thereafter. He went about an effort half way down the back straight and his mount galloped on one paced passing tired horses in the latter part of the race. In his opinion his mount had no problem racing on the soft ground conditions and was suited by the distance of the race. The Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, C.P. McNamara, rider of Kandoit, trained by C.A.McBratney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was flat out racing down the back straight and could not have finished any closer.

010E Sporting Life Beginners S'chase

R.T. Dunne, rider of Round The Buoy (GB), trained by David Peter Dunne, reported to a Stewards Secretary that his mount stopped quickly.

D.F. O'Regan, rider of Simply Shabra, trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got carried out.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the fourth last fence involving Round The Buoy (GB), ridden by R.T. Dunne, pulled up, and Simply Shabra, ridden by D.F. O'Regan, carried out (as reported by the rider). Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D.F. O'Regan stated that his mount was brought to a standstill when impeded by a faller earlier in the race and was out of contention from that point but on the approach to the fourth last fence he wanted to continue in the race with a view to completing it when Round The Buoy (GB) pulled up suddenly and carried out his own mount by the side of the fence. R.T. Dunne stated that his mount stopped very quickly and was pulled up without him realising that there was any horse behind him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise R.T. Dunne to ride with more awareness in a similar circumstance in the future.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of Speed Gang, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the last fence on the first circuit and jumped left throughout thereafter.

David Peter Dunne, trainer of Round The Buoy (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was found to have slight blood and mucus on endoscopic examination post race.
