The Stewards enquired into the riding of Esperti, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, placed fourth, Hey Johnny, ridden by Mr C. Mullins, placed first, Alquinto, ridden by Mr E.P. O'Brien, placed second and Lieutenant Highway, ridden by Mr J.J. Codd, placed third where it appeared that they did not make sufficient effort to ride at a reasonable pace, such action which could be deemed to be at variance with the spirit of competitive horseracing and contrary to the proper conduct of riders at a racemeeting. Evidence was heard from the rider's concerned. The riders explained that there were two first time runners, a quirky horse and an ungenuine horse and for various reasons no rider wanted to make the running and Mr C. Mullins reluctantly made the running. They further stated that it was a four year old INHS Flat Race and they were obliged to carry out their trainers strict instructions. The Stewards referenced the very slow time of 4m 51.90 secs for this two mile race and the slow pace of the race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered all the circumstances forwarded in evidence, the Stewards noted the riders explanations and reminded each person of their future conduct in this regard. .
