The Stewards enquired into an incident after the finishing line involving Entoucas (FR), ridden by M.P. Walsh and Thatsy (FR), ridden by D.N. Russell, where it appeared that Entoucas crashed through railings after crossing the finishing line, colliding with a racing photographer, Mr. Pat Healy. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned and from Mr. P.F. Graffin, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course. M.P. Walsh stated that he did not receive any contact or intimidation from Thatsy and that his mount is a quirky individual who took a look at the gap in the railings at the finishing line and broke through the running rails for no apparent reason. Mr. P.F. Graffin added that the gap in the railings is standard and is necessary to accommodate photo finishes. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that there was no fault with the layout of the course, that there was no breach of raceday rules and that both riders were blameless, however, due to the gravity of the incident, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for further investigation.
P. Townend, rider of Francin (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was very keen.
332C Davis Civil Engineering H'cap H'dleRachael Blackmore, rider of State Of Cognac trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount was injured and pulled up.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Staged Engagement trained by P. E. Collins was found to have had blood on the nose as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage post race.
The Stewards interviewed M.F. Mooney, rider of King's War, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that M.F. Mooney was in breach of Regulations 10.3 (g) excessive frequency, 10.3 (h) arm above shoulder height and 10.3 (i) time to respond. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended M.F. Mooney for 6 racedays and reminded him of his future responsibilities in this regard.
The Stewards requested a report from Ross O'Sullivan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Bythesametoken, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ross O'Sullivan reported that the application of a tongue tie since his last run and a change of tactics today assisted his charge and brought about an improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
332D Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners S'chRachael Blackmore, rider of Demain Des L'aube (FR) trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount never travelled and never jumped.
332E Ladbrokes Troytown H'cap S'chaseD.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Oscar Knight trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount came to pop the last fence however caught the wing of the fence and fell.
332F Mervyn Gray Construction H'cap H'dleK.M. Donoghue, rider of From Eden (USA) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined From Eden (USA), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have had blood on the nose as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage post race.
The Stewards interviewed K. Brogan, rider of Cherif De L'isle (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that K. Brogan was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 6 racedays.
The Stewards received a report from Mr. W. Fleming , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that R.A. Doyle , rider of Oh'herewego , weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that R.A. Doyle was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard cautioned him on this occasion.
332G Coolmore NH Sires EBF (M) INH Flat RaceThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Getaway Star, trained by Declan Queally, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a small wound on his right hind and to be blowing hard post race.
