094F Donaghmore H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong involving Scott Lang, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed fourth, and Buckman Tavern (FR), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed third, where it appeared that Buckman Tavern (FR) continued to drift right while Scott Lang was challenging on his outside. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, W.J. Lee stated that he eased his mount to the outside of Buckman Tavern (FR) to make a challenge but that animal kept lugging away from the rails. In his opinion, the continuous manoeuvre outwards of Buckman Tavern (FR) did not affect his own final placing when beaten half a length. J.A. Heffernan stated that he had intended to ride his mount close to the inside but he began to hang badly up the straight and felt uncomfortable. He added that he was not aware of the presence of Scott Lang in the closing stages. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Buckman Tavern (FR) trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly right up the straight.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Benkei trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount was outpaced early on.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Female Approach, trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
