The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.W. Kennedy replaced B.J. Cooper on Commander Of Fleet, trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 3)(Stewards permission)
J.C. Gainford replaced D.F. O'Regan on Townhill Penny, trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 5)(Stewards permission)
D.F. O'Regan replaced D.N. Russell on Braeside, trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 6)(Stood down).
J.W. Kennedy replaced B.J. Cooper on Farouk D'alene (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 6)(Stewards permission)
D.J. McInerney replaced S.F. O'Keeffe on Call The Tune, trained by Barry Connell (Race 7)(Stewards permission)
D.N. Russell replaced Sam Ewing on Rock On Cassie, trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 2)(Stewards permission)

037B BetVictor Apple's Jade (M) Novice H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident at a boundary post between the last two hurdles involving Lunar Display, ridden by J.J. Slevin and Rock On Cassie, ridden by D.N. Russell, where it appeared that Lunar Display was tight for room when colliding with the boundary post. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J.J. Slevin stated that he had plenty of room at the first spur when riding the inner but it tightened at the next spur which he felt was set off line for the approach to the next hurdle. D.N. Russell stated that he was unaware of the presence of J.J. Slevin on his inner but demonstrated on the video that the spur was set off line with the direct run to the next hurdle. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered all matters, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise D.N. Russell to ride with more awareness.

037C BetVictor Boyne H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Longhouse Poet, trained by Martin Brassil, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

037D1 Meath Farm Machinery H'cap H'dle

S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Ask And Answer trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the closing stages.

C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Lilly Banner trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the ground and hung left in the later stages before being pulled up.

The Stewards interviewed J.G. Gilligan, rider of Uknowcarty, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, J.G. Gilligan accepted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.G. Gilligan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.G. Gilligan for seven racedays.

The Stewards fined Aidan Anthony Howard, trainer, €65 for failing to fit the declared cheek pieces to Follow The Crowd, prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards interviewed S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Ask And Answer, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, S.F. O'Keeffe stated that he had ridden wide during the race and he was trying to maintain that route in the straight when his mount began to hang left. He accepted that he had exceeded the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S.F. O'Keeffe was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned S.F. O'Keeffe on this occasion.

037D2 Meath Farm Machinery H'cap H'dle

Sam Ewing, rider of Burnt Ash, trained by S.R.B. Crawford, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled independently and fell on the turn into the straight. K.M. Donoghue reported that his mount Westy Fox was brought down by the fall of Burnt Ash.

J.C. Gainford, rider of Townhill Penny trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up having been hampered by a fallen horse.

037F Gibney's H'cap S'chase

The Stewards interviewed S. Fitzgerald, rider of Conquredalofeurope, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, S. Fitzgerald stated that he had misjudged his use of the whip and accepted that he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that S. Fitzgerald was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards in accordance with the provisions of R10(6)(a) suspended S. Fitzgerald for six racedays.
