Mr. R.P. McNamara,  Qualified Rider,

Referral  -  Premier Harriers Point to Point on 9th March, 2008.

The Referrals Committee, Mrs. J.O. Onions (in the Chair), Capt. S.H. Walford and Mr. Charles C. Cunningham, met in the Turf Club Offices, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, at 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday 20th May, 2008, to consider a referral from the Acting Stewards at the Premier Harriers Point to Point meeting on 9th March, 2008, when it was found that Mr. R.P. McNamara had weighed out without shoulder pads in his Body Protector in breach of the Regulations for Point to Point Steeplechases.  The Committee heard evidence from Mr. Neil Walsh, Steward Secretary on duty, and having considered this evidence and Legal Submissions the Committee decided to dismiss the case on a technicality.

Mr. McNamara was represented by Mr. Grahame Walsh, of McCann Fitzgerald Solicitors, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2, and the case was presented to the Committee by Mr. Brian Price of Wilkinson and Price Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare.
