The Referrals Committee, Mr. Edward Flannery (in the Chair), Mrs. T.K. Cooper and Mrs. J.O. Onions, met in the Stewards Room at the Curragh Racecourse on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2006, to consider referral of Mr. C.P. O’Toole, Jockeys Agent, by the Acting Stewards at Clonmel on 5th March, 2006, concerning the nomination of a rider for “Mrs Paddy Jack”, trained by Mr. M. Quigley in the Kilsheelan Handicap Hurdle.   

The Committee heard evidence from Mr. Quigley, Mr. G. Cribben, Jockeys Agent, and from Mr. C.P. O’Toole.  Having considered the evidence the Committee accepted the explanation furnished by Mr. O’Toole and took no further action other than to caution Mr. Quigley to be more careful when engaging riders in the future.

Mr. O’Toole was represented by Mr. A.R. Coonan of Coonan Cawley Solicitors, Naas, and Mr. Brian Price of Wilkinson & Price Solicitors, Naas, presented the case to the Committee.
