Unrecognised Meeting at Frenchpark 24th July 2005

The Referrals Committee, Mr. Gordon Holmes (in the Chair), Mrs. Joan Moore and Mrs. J.O. Onions met at the Stewards Room, Curragh Racecourse,  The Curragh, Co. Kildare on Wednesday, 7th June 2006 to consider a referral by Denis Egan, Chief Executive, following reports received from Mr. James P. Johnston and Mr. Martin Healy, Turf Club Security Officers, that Mr. Michael Butler, Licensed Trainer, had actively participated in an unrecognised meeting at Frenchpark, Co. Roscommon on 24th July 2005.

Evidence was heard from Mr. James P. Johnston and Mr. Martin Healy, Turf Club Security Officers, Mr. Michael Butler and Mr. Liam McCarthy who attended the unrecognised meeting at Frenchpark with Mr. Butler.

Having considered the evidence the Committee found Mr. Butler in breach of Rule 272 and fined him €250.

The case was presented by Mr. Denis Egan, Chief Executive.
