The Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Conversant, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer's representative Ms. M. Donovan reported that any apparent improvement was solely as a result of the softer going today. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Waitaki trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't jump from the stalls and possibly resented the tongue strap.

253G Follow Listowel Races On Twitter M'dn

R.P. Cleary, rider of Thefaithfulindian trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a slight check up the straight.

S. Foley, rider of Pocotaligo (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount didn't handle the track.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Knock Flyer trained by D.J.Barry, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no luck in running.
