The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

J.A. Nash, trainer of Scheu Time (off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.G. Gilligan rode Sao Paulo (reserve), trained by Michael Hourigan (Race 3)
A.W. Short rode Siberian Star (GB) (reserve), trained by P.J. Rothwell (Race 5)

256A Irish Stallion Farms EBF (M) M'dn H'dle

At the request of the Stewards, Mr M.J.M. O'Sullivan, rider of Citizen's Army, trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced early on and got detached, was distracted throughout by a loose horse and stayed on one paced in the closing stages.

256C Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

G.P. Brouder, rider of Comporta (GB) trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly right and made a noise at the second last.

T.N. Brett, rider of Cousin Harry trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with interference at the start.

D.J. Hand, rider of Mr Moondance trained by Mark Michael McNiff, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount failed to handle the ground.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Comporta (GB), ridden by G.P. Brouder, and trained by John Joseph Hanlon. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's Authorised Representative, Ms. Rachel O'Neill. G.P. Brouder, stated that his instructions were to get his mount to switch off as it has ran keen in the past and to do the best he could. He said his mount met with interference at the start, but this had helped him to settle the animal. He further added that his mount hung right throughout, hung badly right in the closing stages and whinnied close to the line. He concluded by stating that he should have pulled his mount up before the line. Ms. O'Neill, confirmed the instructions given and expressed her overall satisfaction with the ride. She felt the rider could have been stronger near the finish, but felt the animal had hung left in the closing stages. Ms. O'Neill concluded by outlining her charges previous form and felt the animal was of limited ability and not the most genuine type. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Comporta was found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that both the trainer and rider were in breach of Rule 212a(ii). Having taken their respective records in this regard into account, the Stewards fined John Joseph Hanlon €2000 through his Authorised Representative and suspended G.P. Brouder for 10 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore, the Stewards suspended Comporta (GB) for a period of 42 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212C.

256D Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue H'dle(Hcap)

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that J.G. Gilligan, rider of Marmolata, had presented himself to weigh out at 2lbs overweight, which was not declared at declaration time as required under the provisions of Rule 195(i). Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the overweight on this occasion having consulted with a representative of the trainer. Furthermore, the Stewards were satisfied that J.G. Gilligan was in breach of Rule 198(vii)A and having considered his record, they fined him €150 and advised that he liaise with the I.H.R.B. Medical Officer with regard to his weight.

256E Listowel H'cap H'dle

The Stewards were informed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer that the vaccinations for Lilshane, trained by Thomas P.O'Connor, contained in the passport were not corrected as directed previously by the IHRB. In accordance with Rule 91 the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Lilshane and they informed the trainer that the horse would be ineligible to run until the error is corrected to the satisfaction of the IHRB Veterinary Officer and any period of suspension imposed has expired.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Thousand Tears, trained by John M.Burke, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

256F John F. McGuire Beginners S'chase

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Automatic, trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales, that his mount burst a blood vessel in running, this was was later confirmed by the I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer.

256H Listowel Beginners S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Aprils Joy, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

P. Townend, rider of Aprils Joy trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled after jumping the first.
