J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Kilcarry View trained by John Patrick Ryan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout and was pulled up.
335B Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dleE. Walsh, rider of Future Proof trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action at the top of the back straight and was pulled up.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Future Proof, trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Stewards wished to enquire into the running and riding of Presenting Dylan, ridden by P.J. Cawley, and trained by Patrick G. Kelly. However, they were unable to proceed with this enquiry as the trainer was not present nor had he nominated a representative to act on his behalf. The Stewards therefore referred both the running and riding of Presenting Dylan and the trainers failure to nominate an authorised representative to the Referrals Committee for consideration in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212 and Rule 147. Presenting Dylan was examined by the Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards, who reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.
335C Annual Membership Rated Novice H'dleThe Stewards fined Kenny Johnson (in GB), trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Cryogenics, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Cryogenics in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
The stewards received a report from The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, Ms. Nicola O'Connor, that the passport of Cryogenics trained by Kenny Johnson (in GB) was found to be demonstrably incorrect following inspection. Evidence was heard from Ms. O'Connor and from the trainer concerned, who accepted that this was the case. He further accepted that the I.H.R.B had sent him advice with regard to the passport concerned prior to his departure from England, but stated that he had not noticed the correspondence until informed today. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards while having sympathy with his situation, ordered the withdrawal of Cryogenics from this race and fined Mr. Johnson €350 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
The Stewards interviewed M.P. Fogarty, rider of Mc Alpine, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found M. P. Fogarty in breach of Regulation 10.3 (i) time to respond. Having considered M. P. Fogarty's record in this regard the stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
335D Fexco Asset Finance H'cap H'dleThe Stewards interviewed F.J. Hayes, rider of Shadows Return, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found F. J. Hayes in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g) frequency. Having considered F. J. Hayes's record in this regard the stewards suspended him for one raceday.
335E Mr Binman Christmas Fest. (QR) H'cap HdlThe Stewards requested a report Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer of Young Dev, placed first regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with its previous run over hurdles when pulling up. The trainer reported that Young Dev had made a very bad mistake at the fourth last when last running over hurdles and had got detached thereafter. He also stated that Young Dev appeared to appreciate todays going and he felt that this had helped to bring about the improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation given.
335F Limerick Facebook Opportunity H'cap HdleL.A. McKenna, rider of Sir Ector (USA), trained by J.J.Lambe, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost its action and was pulled up.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sir Ector (USA), trained by J.J.Lambe, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
D. P. Holden, rider of Bomber Jackson, trained by Mrs. Y. Dunleavy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jinked and ran out for no apparent reason.
The Stewards received a report from Ms. Avena O'Keeffe, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that O.R. Brown, rider of Ask Mary, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that O. R. Brown was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered O. R. Browns record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
T.N. Brett, rider of Cluan Dara, trained by John Patrick Ryan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount emptied jumping the second last.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Oscar Lantern trained by E. McNamara was found to have blood at his right nostril when examined post race.
335G Limerick Races (M) (L P-A) INH Flat RaceThe Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms Avena O'Keeffe, regarding the failure of Sarah Kavanagh, rider of Chelseas Friend, placed fifth to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified Chelseas friend from fifth place in accordance with the provisions of Rule 230 (ii). Furthermore, the stewards were satisified that Sarah Kavanagh was in breach of Rule 227 and having considered her record they suspended her for 2 racedays and ordered that she forfeit her riding fee. Amended result: Darling Daughter placed first, More Info placed second, Wild Atlantic Way placed third, Dysart Diamond placed fourth and Fairyhill Run placed fifth.
