The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.P. McNamara rode Notabotherhi (reserve) trained by Thomas Gibney (Race 1)
M.J. Molloy rode One For Lucy (reserve) trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy (Race 1)
J.C. Gainford rode Junior Bee (reserve) trained by M.A.Molloy (Race 5)
Mr.R.P. Geoghegan replaced A.M. King on Oskar High, trained by Norman Lee (Race 5)(transport difficulties).

374B Cargill Neomilk Rated Novice S'chase

The Stewards fined Henry de Bromhead, trainer €65 for falling to fit a tongue tie to Low Lie The Fields prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards interviewed D.J. McInerney, rider of King Alex (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, Stewards were satisfied that D.J. McInerney was in breach of both Regulation 10.3(f)(force) and (g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 5 racedays.

374C Earl Of Harrington Mem. Mdn Hunters S'ch

Mr A. Harvey, rider of Smiths Girl trained by B.P. Galvin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action and was pulled up.

374D Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Humble Glory, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

374E Roches Feeds H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a request from Norman Lee, trainer of Oskar High, to substitute the nominated rider A.M. King, with Mr R.P. Geoghegan, due to transport difficulties. Having considered the request, the Stewards allowed the nomination on this occasion, but were satisfied that A.M. King was in breach of Rule 196 (i) and having considered his record, they issued a fine of €200 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 196(v).

The Stewards fined Rodger Sweeney, trainer €65 for fitting cheek pieces to Matilda With Me which had not been declared and ordered their removal.

B. Browne, rider of Glory Breeze trained by Miss Denise Marie O'Shea, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled in this race.

374F Goggin Buckley H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the second last hurdle involving Summer Tide, ridden by D.J. McInerney and Hilltop Supreme, ridden by Miss R. Murphy, where it appeared that Summer Tide meet with interference and unseated the rider. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss R. Murphy, stated that her mount got tight for room causing her to be unseated and felt that the incident was accidental and unavoidable. D.J. McInerney, stated that his mount went left on the approach to the second last without warning which caused the incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise D.J. McInerney to ride with more awareness in future.

At the request of the Stewards, C.P. McNamara, rider of Donkey Years, trained by E. McNamara, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a noise going up the back straight, at which point he gave him a chance and then he stayed on again in the straight.

The Stewards requested a report from John Joseph Hanlon, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Teescomponentsyess, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Rachael O'Neill, Authorised representative for the trainer reported that the return to testing conditions at a track which Teescomponentsyess had previously won at, in her opinion is what brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Colonel Bellew, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Conheady, rider of An Forghas, concerning the whip he used in this race, which appeared to fall short of the standard required. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that his whip was not approved for use on a racecourse and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr J. Conheady was in breach of Regulation 10.1 (use of only air cushioned whip permitted) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion.
