S. Foley, rider of Minot Street (CAN) trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount felt uncomfortable in the back straight.

The Stewards met to consider a complaint from Tracey Collins, trainer, in relation to the condition that her stabling was presented today for her runner. She stated that she expected her own personal high standards of hygiene to be applied to all racecourse stabling but today found the stable to contain old used shavings with dirt in the centre of the stable, dusty content and furthermore the stable wall was not clean. She stressed that today's presentation could cause health and contamination problems that could have serious consequences should her horse be sampled during todays fixture. She requested the immediate implementation of the agreed procedure of bare and clean stables being presented on raceday with access to either baled paper or shavings to be used according to the trainers requirement. Nicola O'Connor, MVB, Turf Club Veterinary Officer concurred with the findings and report of Tracey Collins and added that she previously encountered similar problems within the Turf Club Veterinary unit within the stable yard but the issue had been addressed when brought to the attention of management. Patrick O'Callaghan, Limerick Racecourse Manager felt that nothing different had been done between race fixtures since he took up his position but admitted that he relied on the feed back from his staff. He added that he was unsuccessful in sourcing baled shavings. He gave an undertaking that this matter would be addressed before the next fixture here. Having considered the complaint, the Stewards accepted the points raised by Tracey Collins and Nicola O'Connor MVB and requested that Patrick O'Callaghan would ensure that his undertaking would be fulfilled to the requirements as stated.
