The Raceday Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Rocky's Diamond, trained by Declan Queally, placed, first, compared with its only previous run at Gowran Park on March 9th, when finishing 13th of 14 finishers and was beaten by 61 lengths. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that his charge is a difficult type and very hard on himself. He further added that the animal ran very free when wearing a hood on his previous run and he felt that a combination of removing the hood and a change of tactics to front running had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Evidence was also heard from Mr. Shay Quinn, National Hunt Handicapper, who outlined the form of the Gowran race and offered the view that today's win was a significant improvement. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Niall Moore, rider of Beeverstown Place, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Niall Moore was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record (third offence), they suspended him for eight racedays.
