The Stewards interviewed D.E. Sheehy, rider of That's Not Me, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that D.E. Sheehy was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to ride in a straight line from his draw position until the marker poles were reached. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned D.E. Sheehy.

The Stewards enquired into the late withdrawal of I Am Superman (11.58 a.m.) where the excuse for the change in going was submitted by the trainer M.D. O'Callaghan. The Stewards had been informed subsequently that I Am Superman had never arrived at the racecourse. M.D. O'Callaghan admitted that his charge had never left his Curragh base this morning and through a combination of staff absenteeism, poor weather and a large number of horses to be ridden out, he had missed the deadline for withdrawing his charge in compliance with Rule 194 (iii). He added that a family member had walked the racecourse earlier this morning and it was then decided that the ground would not be suitable, hence the excuse lodged for non running. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that M.D. O'Callaghan was in breach of Rule 194 (iii) and in accordance with the provisions of Rule 194 (iv)(a) they imposed a fine of €320 on the trainer as this was his second breach of this rule in the same calendar year.

The Stewards interviewed Thomas Cooper, trainer of Shcamama, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he had saddled his charge in plenty of time but only realised when the signal to mount was sounded in the parade ring that his charge was not present. He added that the groom was a schoolgoing child who was leading up for the second time and mistakingly had forgotten to proceed to the parade ring. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Thomas Cooper was in breach of Rule 32(ii) but imposed a caution having taken into consideration the circumstances in which the matter arose and the previous record of the trainer.

The Stewards fined John James Feane, trainer, €65 for failing to fit cheek pieces to No Education (GB), prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Nothing To Lose, ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed first and Cyrus Dallin (GB), ridden by K.K. Hennessy, placed second, where it appeared that Nothing To Lose drifted towards Cyrus Dallin (GB). Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, A.J. Slattery's in the presence of John C. McConnell for whom he rode. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Nothing To Lose trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount idled in front.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Stormy Tale trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount became fractious in the stalls and reared up when they opened.
