The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr. L.J. Carberry rode Master Breffni (reserve) trained by J.T.R.Dreaper (Race 1)

379A All About Sunday M'dn H'dle

M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Gentleman Joe (GB) trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Stuzzikini, ridden by N.R. Andrews, and trained by Gordon Elliott. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. N.R. Andrews, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount three quarters way back to get the horse jumping and to do the best he could. He concluded by saying that his inexperience was a factor in how he rode his race. Gordon Elliot confirmed the instructions given and stated that the horse was bought to give the young riders in the yard some experience. He further stated that this was the riders first ride and that he would improve for todays experience. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Stuzzikini was post race normal and samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered and took no further action other than to advise Nathan Andrews to familiarise himself with Rule 212 and to be seen to make more of an effort in future.

379C Knight Frank Juvenile H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cougar (JPN), trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, M.P. Walsh, rider of Cougar (JPN), trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free in the early stages of the race.

379E Brand New Racing Post App Novice S'chase

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Fil Dor (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at the third last fence.

379F Bet Through Racing Post App H'cap S'ch

P.J. Carberry, rider of Sil Ver Klass (FR) trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.

M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Alice Avril (FR) trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right and hung badly right turning in.

379G Race And Stay INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident early in the straight involving Did I Ask You That, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed second, One And Only, ridden by Mr J.C. Barry, placed sixth, Pour Les Filles (GB), ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, placed first, and Bop Bop Bobbin, ridden by Mr T.P. Harney, placed third, where it appeared interference may have occurred . Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr J. C. Barry stated that he suffered interference from his outside and had to check to avoid clipping heels. Mr. T.P. Harney stated that he suffered interference from his outside. Mr. H.C. Swan stated that he had to check his mount off heels. Mr. P. W. Mullins accepted that tight riding had occurred but was satisfied that he was clear while riding towards the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. P W. Mullins was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion. Mr. R. Ryan, Acting Steward recused himself from this enquiry.

Owing to the low trajectory of the sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for hurdle number 1 to be omitted from all hurdle races today.
