The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R.P. Cleary, rider of Dearg Jazz, trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room going to the line.

The Stewards interviewed R.P. Cleary, rider, in relation to the late arrival of his mount to the start, which caused a significant delay to the off time of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount refused to canter down to the start with the other runners and he felt he had no option but to dismount and lead the animal on several occasions. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.

209B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

C.T. Keane, rider of Dazzling Spirit trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount acted up in the stalls.

Owing to high winds, the Stewards granted permission for the identity numbers at the rear of the stalls to be removed from this race and the remainder of the card in the interest of safety.

209F Leopardstown Claiming Race

The Stewards interviewed James J. Doyle, rider of New Wreck, concerning his use of the whip when out of contention. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that James J. Doyle was in breach of Regulation 10.3(i)(time to respond with whip) and having considered his record they suspended him for 1 raceday. The Stewards gave Mr. Doyle the benefit of the doubt as to the unjustifiable use of his whip when out of contention.
