J.A. Heffernan, rider of Peaceful trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls.

The Stewards considered a request from P. Twomey, trainer of Silk Forest, to replace J.A. Heffernan with W.J. Lee in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that W.J. Lee was engaged to ride in France today but became available after experiencing transport difficulties in getting to France. He stated that W.J. Lee was his stable jockey and he wished him to ride the filly rather than Mr. Heffernan. Having considered the matter under Regulation 3, the Stewards declined the request.

The Stewards interviewed S.M. Mooney, rider of Royal Admiral, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account cautioned the rider.

S. Foley, rider of Minnie Haha (FR) trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never picked up.
