Following a request from broadcasters, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for a one minute delay to this race
P. Townend, rider of Ninth Loch, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around in front.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the first hurdle involving Scottish Dancer, ridden by S. O'Callaghan, unplaced, Dark Image (GB), ridden by G.B. Noonan, unplaced, Applicationofcash, ridden by P.T. Enright, unseated, and Back To Toledo, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, faller, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence S. O'Callaghan stated that his mount jumped fine but was brought down by the faller after the hurdle. P.T. Enright stated that his mount jumped fine but was hampered by the loose horse and his saddle slipped causing him to be unseated. S.W. Flanagan stated that his mount fell independently of any other horse. G.B. Noonan stated that his mount unexpectedly jumped violently left at the first hurdle. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

K. Callaghan, rider of Up She Flew, trained by Liam P Cusack, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
G.B. Noonan, rider of Eastern Tornado, trained by Michael P. Hourigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount planted at the start and his chance was gone.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed K. Callaghan, rider of Up She Flew, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K. Callaghan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) (frequency) and having taken his previous record into account they suspended K. Callaghan for six racedays.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from D.E.Fitzgerald, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of General Clermont (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. D. E. Fitzgerald stated that General Clermont (FR) ran too free on his previous run in Wexford and he felt that today his charge was nice and settled and got into a good rhythm. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

P.T. Enright, rider of Ceroc, trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left.
K. Callaghan, rider of Foveros (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference at the last hurdle involving Happy Jacky, ridden by D. King, placed second, and We'llhavewan, ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence D. King stated that he did not have to stop riding his mount and that his finishing position was not affected. P. Townend stated that his mount was lugging left but he felt he kept him straight to the finishing line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while We'llhavewan had caused interference to Happy Jack, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
