H. Rogers Prohibited Substance

12 December 2006

H. Rogers  -  Prohibited Substance
Tralee, 28th August, 2006.

The Referrals Committee, Mr. Edward Flannery (in the Chair), Mrs. T.K. Cooper and Mrs. J.O. Onions, met at the Stand House Hotel, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, on Tuesday, 12th December, 2006, to consider a report from BHP Laboratories in Limerick that the biological fluid sample taken from “Rocking Annie” following its win in the North Real Estate Alliance Handicap Steeplechase at Tralee on 28th August was found to contain Tranexamic Acid which, under Rule 20 (v), is a Prohibited Substance.  The Committee heard evidence from Mr. H. Rogers, Trainer, and from Dr. Marie O’Connor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer.

Having considered the evidence, the Referrals Committee fined Mr. Rogers €130 for a breach of Rule 148.  However they waived the fine as they were satisfied that Mr. Rogers had taken all reasonable precautions to avoid breach of this Rule.  The Committee disqualified “Rocking Annie” and ordered that the records be amended accordingly.
